I am having trouble losing the baby weight from my 16mth old. I gained about 60 lbs with him that I just can't shake. I had knee surgery in '04 so it is hard to run and exercise for long periods of time. The extra weight is making my knee less sturdy. Is there a safe vitamin I could take to boost my metabolism or energy level? This just seems to be a never ending cycle. I don't exercise bc I am tired or my knee hurts and my knee hurts bc of the weight. I just need SOMETHING to give me an advantage, I can't afford Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem. I walk around the track at work when I get a break. but Walking won't get rid of 60lbs. please help

What can I do next?

You may want to have your thyroid checked. 3 months after i had my daughter, i still looked pregnant..full term plus. I also had joint pain and was too tired to do anything. It turns out that my thyroid is underactive and, following that, I found out that I have insulin resistance. My doctor told me that if God didn't make it, don't eat it. No cereal, breads, pastas, etc...it is not fun, but I already feel better and have more energy (after taking thyroid and insulin res. meds) I hope this helps! God bless!

The more raw foods you can eat..the better. As long as you are eating raw organic foods...you cant go wrong! Also, grapefruit (if you can choke them down...I don't like them) is a good NATURAL way to boost your metabolism. And keep walking....the more, the better. They say the reason other countries stay so slim is they walk anywhere from 8-10 miles a day. The average american walks less than a mile a day! Also, when shopping in a grocery store...shop on the outside perimeter...all the food in between is just full of preservatives and chemicals...no good for you when trying to heal your body. Hope this helps! Good luck!

You had 2 babies in 2 years. Your body is not going to bounce back overnight. Walking WILL help you lose weight. I taught aerobics for 4 yrs. I am a HUGE fan of exercising to overcome injuries and joint pain. Walking is an excellent way to start losing the weight with less stress on your body. The pounds are not going to fall off immediately. You also can't finish it off with a cheesburger. Take things slowly and have patience. Watch what you eat. You don't have to buy into Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem. Try one of the dance exercise videos. Get your kids involved. My son liked Tai Bo so much that after the birth of my 2nd child, I would find him up in the morning (at 5!) doing the video without me. Good luck!

I definately think you need to lift weights. Weight training builds muscle, which burns more fat, makes you stronger, which it sounds like you need for your knee. But also, there is something called Venom...a metabolism booster that works well also.

Surprisingly enough, I lost 30 lbs, just cutting calories (approx. 1500/day) and walking for 1/2 hr. a day. Some days it was a little more/less, but I've kept it off. It does take time however, it took me 3 mos. to lose the weight, but every little bit helps, especially when it's causing pain. Good luck. :)

Hi J.,
My name is M. and I have had some success with weight loss after having children. I lost 28 lbs using a product called Advocare. After my second I'm in better shape than before even having children. The particular vitamin is called Maximum Appetite Control. It not only decreased my appetite, but gave me energy and stopped my cravings for bad carbs. After using the vitamins for a few months, I also began to crave excercise, which was not like me at all! I joke that I stopped craving cookies and started craving excercise. I know that it sounds like magic and after using the product for several years, I still don't know how it works, but it does! The theory is that when you put really good nutrition in your body, you crave more good nutrition. I have been selling the vitamins for several years now and my customers who use them get me as their coach for encouragement and council on nutrition, excercise, ect. Feel free to e-mail me off this list if you'd like more info. My address is ____@____.com can also check out the Advocare website if you'd like. www.advocare.com
