I really need help on this one. Ever since I got my IUD back in December I seem to not be able to lose weight like I use to. I use to have a very high metabolism and could eat 5 times a day. Now, however the weight stays and it's primarily in my stomach and butt areas. I'm not pregnant, in fact I keep having a period every month even though the doc says they may go away after the 3rd month. I just need some helpful ideas to help lose the weight and have a flatter tummy again. Any suggestions???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanx for all the advice. My goal is 6 weeks and yes I plan on run, run, and more running. I find that I'm easier at staying active that way with my kids too!

I am currently taking a supplement that has high levels of acai berry and it is working wonders with the mid section. It is the hot new thing advertised on GMA, Oprah, and Rachel Ray. The supplement I am taking was designed by my dr and it is amazing. metarevive.com

I agree with the others that counting calories and exercising more helps. Weight loss supplements, or any kind of vitamin in a pill or tablet form gets absorbed only 10-15% by the time it breaks down in the body. The best delivery method for any supplements is an intra-oral spray (over 90% is absorbed immediately into the bloodstream).

In case you haven't heard of adaptogens, they are a category of herbs that help the body deal with stress, restore balance, and support normal metabolic processes. (A lot has been discussed recently about adaptogens, even Oz on Oprah). Often times stress causes us to overeat as well as produce excess cortisol (causes the body to store fat). Adaptogens support weight management by regulating blood sugar, insulin metabolism, and cortisol levels; aid in digestion; and increase energy. In fact, adaptogens have the ability to shift the body's metabolism to a greater use of fat for energy.

To learn more about fast acting adaptogen sprays (Slim is wonderful for cravings and weight control) and watch "The Story of Adaptogens Documentary" 10 minute video, go to VitalHealth.TunguskaMist.com

You'll have more energy and endurance to work out with adaptogens. Are you weight training? Lean muscle mass will help speed up your metabolism, thus you'll burn more calories! Avoid fast foods, processed foods, and all soft drinks, (if you're not already). Drink plenty of water and eat smaller portions throughout the day.

2 great books that I recommend are: Living Lean, by Larry North and Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes.

Well cardio work is the best for burning fat. Brisk walks or run at least 30 mins a day on most days of the week. I think that eating alot of carbs (breads, sugars and rice) play a big part of holding weight in the ole mid section. Drink a bunch of water to. For you diet stick with mostly veggies and fresh fruits. With your problem starting with your IUD, hormones are probably you biggest problem. Unless your willing to find a hormone free birth control, the problem will probably not go away. "(
