I'm disabled and cannot go out to get my groceries and medications. Is there any help for me ???? I'm 50 years old. My local Stop & Shop does not have the "Peapod".

What can I do next?

Hi M. - I just looked on-line and found out that Roche Brothers delivers. They have a store in Bridgewater which isn't too far from Taunton. Also, have you checked any other local Stop & Shops to see if they have Peapod service? I would assume you checked with the Raynham Stop & Shop. There is also one in Middleboro which isn't far from Taunton either. Maybe they service Taunton with Peapod.

I wish you the best of luck in your search!

Stop & Shop's Peapod is supposed to be great for ordering groceries. I am not sure if they do a phamacy too, but it is worth it for groceries anyways.
Best of luck!

I'd try starting with the council for elder affairs in your community. I realize you're not hardly elderly, but I would imagine that would be the place with the right referrals & suggestions for you. If you're looking to find help privately you could also try posting an ad for what you are looking for on your local grocery store's bulletin boards, but of course screen anyone who answers carefully.

I would order my food online from "Peapod" home food delivery by Stop and Shop stores. I have tried this during the winter when we had a few snow storms. It was great. You order what you need online and you may use coupons. Just give them to to driver when he arrives and it will be credited off your charge. When you place the order, you can select the time and day most convenient for you to have it delivered. They deliver the order right to your kitchen or door wherever you would like. I don't know about the prescriptions, maybe the drug store has a delivery service available.
Or, another idea for your food shopping I would contact your local boy scout troop or girl scouts and see if there is a volunteer that would like to earn community service credit hours by doing your shopping and delivering with a parent.
A lot of high school are requiring the students to do community service as a graduation requirement. My son's school has a requirement of 20 hours of service each year.
