Hello. I am looking for a great dr for my next pregnancy. I'm still waiting to find out if I'm pg this month. If not, I'm hoping to be in the next few months and I don't have a dr besides my family practitioner. I'd like someone who specializes in pregnancy. Here are my main criteria
1. Female
2. Prefer Christian, pro-life
3. Knows natural medicine. ie, doesn't prescribe meds for every woe, encourages natural med-free birth and breastfeeding, etc.
4. I live in Wayzata so that's a consideration but I am willing to drive for the right dr.
Thanks in advance for your help. In case it matters, we have Medica Choice.

Another Mom recommended OB/GYN West and I completely agree. My doctor - Sheryl Louie, also is part of this practice. They have locations in Wayzata and Eden Prairie. I am so pleased with her care. She was my GYN for years until my husband and I decided we wanted to start a family, then had a very difficult time getting pregnant. She is a great doctor, very caring and very matter-of-fact. I highly recommend her - of course I say this with a bit of hesitancy, because if you choose to use her, it just means her schedule becomes even more crazy! :)

Dr. Christina Larson at Ob/Gyn West in Wayzata is fabulous. I don't know her personal views, but she is worth checking out. ###-###-####.

R.,

I love my doctors and would definitely recommend them. I go to Oakdale OB/GYN and they have clinics in Plymouth, Robbinsdale, Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park. Their website is www.oakdaleobgyn.com. I see Dr. Brenda Harris, Dr. Lisa Shakerin or for a male doctor, Dr. Krause.
Good luck!

Try the midwives in you area. I used the midwives in Park Nicollet and they were wonderful. Or even a Doula. I've seen that there are a few on this network and they should be able to help you out with a Dr. that fits your needs.

I have been seeing several of the woman doctors at OGI; Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility with offices in Edina at Southdale, Plymouth at West Health and North Memorial's Oakdale building. I believe all of the four women doctors are partners at the firm so they have a strong investment in the practice. Their number is ###-###-#### in Edina and ###-###-#### at Plymouth. Their website is www.obgynmn.com

My primary doctor is Amy Brown but I have seen all four woman; Dr. Lisa Baker, Dr. Stephanie Rice and Dr. Jennifer Arnhold. All are super women. Dr. Brown will be leaving to deliver her own child in October so she may not be available right now for new appointments. Very resourceful, listened to me needs, supported my decisions and preferences, etc. It is worth asking their front desk who they recommended as a primary doctor for your preferences listed above. They would be fine with that request.

My father-in-law was one of the founding partners and has since retired. Dr. J. would tell you the woman he and the remaining partners hired over the years are some of the best in the business. He even will say that he feels the woman doctors at his clinic do a better job today with their clients than the men did when they first opened it years and years ago. Now that I am a mommy to a 19 year old, and having a blood clotting condition, I can attest to their skills and compassion. I know it is not my status as the daughter-in-law that gets me the special treatment because several friends now go there as does someone from my office and they all get the same treatment.

Good luck.
