Need Gift Ideas on a Present to Get My Husband After the Birth of Our First Baby
H moms! Has anyone heard of a push present? I know this is traditionally for women, but I would also like to get my husband a gift congratulating him on the birth of our daughter. Any ideas?? I am running out of time...only 11 more days until our scheduled c-section!! Thanks :)
So What Happened?™
Thanks for all of the suggestions!! I decided to buy the book "101 things to do with your children before they leave home" and I wrote my husband a letter about how great of a father I know he will be. Both were well received!

My husband got a book from his mom about being a first time dad. You can also get him a photo or something that will be about him and the baby.

I made my husband for a Christmas gift a book about him and the boys. I used picaboo.com. He loved it so much. It's like making a album/book.

A laundry basket filled with detergent, dreft pre treater, an I love daddy bib, diapers, etc. My husband's big thing after our first was that he didn't know what to do to help. fill the basket with ideas. personalize it with a #1 daddy photo frame (kohls has super cute ones) to hold that just born and in daddy's arms photo.

Make a shirt that says, "#1 Dad!" and leave a spot to put the babies hand or footprints. When he leaves to go grab a bite to eat at the hospital, put the baby's prints on the shirt, put it in a gift bag and hand to him when he comes back.

Write him a letter about how great of a father he will be, how proud of him you are and how thankful you are that he is your husband!

I bought my husband a frame when our duaghter was born and had it engraved (things remembered) She was due right around Father's Day and his birthday so I wanted something just in case. It says "I love you Daddy" and 16 years later it still sits on his desk with updated photos.

Hey J..
I wanted to let you know I have the perfect gift to give to your husband! It is a Heritage Makers digital scrapbook/storybook. You can write out your dating story along with some pictures, photos of your wedding and marriage up until now and then write to him about what an amazing father he is going to be and how you are looking forward to sharing this adventure with him. This is not only something he will treasure but it is something that your children will cherish and love to read when they get older. It is so easy to make a digital scrapbook and they are gorgeous! Here is the website below and I would love to set up a computer meeting with you and show you around the website and help you get started. Thanks and congrats!

If your husband is a comical guy, what about putting together a basket of things he can use - but are funny at the same time. A clothes pin for plugging his nose when he changes diapers - a box of rubber gloves - tongs to remove the diaper. etc.
You definately have more energy than I did at this point! Congrats!

Jenn,
It sounds like she is the present. I am sure he is going to be overwhelmed with the whole experience. Althought a nice framed photo of him holding her for the first time would be a great memorie. Mabey you could have a frame engraved and present it to him after the big bang is over and you have a quiet moment ( and I do mean MOMENT). You sound like a thoughtfull and loving wife, I am sure whatever you do will be great. R.
