Need FUN Summer Activities to do!......Please Help

Hi Moms,
Well, my 5 yr old is out of school for the summer and already we are bored out of our minds.
I'm not used to not having anything to do during the week and I need some cool Summer activities to do with my children.
I know of a great water park were going to start going to when it opens but I need some suggestions on some fun indoor places to go to as well.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
Thank You

What can I do next?

Well, we live in east Dallas, so some of this might not be as easy for you to do. I'm planning on weekly activities that we repeat. As an example:

Mondays, ride the DART train to the Dallas Zoo (discounted admission on M & T when you ride DART)
Tuesdays, go to the free family movie festival at Galaxy Stadium (there are other locations for this as well)
Wednesdays, go to Farmers Market
Thursdays, playdate at home & invite a friend over & make sidewalk chalk/sidewalk paint drawings on the driveway or fill up the splash pool
Fridays, go to the splash park; if it's raining, go to the public library (sometimes they have free story times for kids, too)

Hope this helps!

Good advice about the Science Place- we have a membership there and it's been so worth the price. I have a 6 year old boy and a 2 1/2 year old boy, and they both love it- we started going there last summer. Also, I suggest you buy the book called Outings & Adventures with Children Ages 1-6 & Beyond by Lynda Morley... it's an awesome resource with hundreds of places to go in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Also, what about doing a My Gym or Little Gym class- We do My Gym for my 2 year old, and with that membership, both kids can attend their open gym play times during the week. You also want to check for open gym play times at ASI gymnastics or other gymnastics places near you.

Hi N.,

I grabbed a "Kids Directory" yesterday from the doctors office and I found a great indoor play area that I'm going to check out next weekend with my 3 year old.

It's calld "The Clubhouse for KIDS Only!" it has a moutain to scale, a tree house to play in, art projects, food and more!

The address is 3100 Independence Pkwy #201 Plano. ###-###-####

If you get there before next weekend let me know your thoughts!

Just to let you know I did the Clubhouse for Kids in Plano and my kids LOVED it. It has mulitple rooms for imagination play. My 5 year-old loved the mountain climbing. In fact, we are going this week, because that is all my boys talk about.

Lakepointe Church in Rockwall has Sports Camps and Vacation Bible School. Check the website at www.lpkids.com and www.lpsports.com.

Rowlett has Wetzone and Garland has Hawaiian Falls waterparks.

YMCA is a great place for swim lessons.

Ham's O. in Terrell allows you to pick your own blackberries.

Dallas Arboretum is worth the season pass to allow you to take the kids for quick or long picinics in a beautiful environment and there are often kid's activities such as music concerts.

Harry Myers park in Rockwall has a sprinkler park and playground.

Rockwall also has Jump and Jive; indoor bounce houses.

Let me know if you need more suggestions!
