Need FAST Home Remedy for Puffy Eyes!!
Stupid PMS + holiday stress + super lack of sleep... cried my eyes out last night, I feel much better (I guess I needed that!), BUT today is my son's first birthday, we have a ton of people coming over, and I look like Quasimodo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I really don't think I'll have time to go to the store to buy any beauty supplies (not that I would know what to buy anyway), so does anyone have any home remedies to getting rid of the puffiness?! It's under my eyes, but mostly my actual EYELIDS that are super swollen. Thanks ladies!! After today... I need some beauty rest ;)

I call them cry eyes. If i have a good cry i wake up and the tops of my eyelids are swollen huge! Cold does help a little, lots of water and ibuprophen (sp?) may help too.

Ice in the bathroom sink, fill with water and plunge your face into it and hold it as many times as you can stand. If you have any preparation H, you could gingerly put some on the lids and surrounding area but dont get it IN your eyes. It's made to reduce swelling for hemmerhoids and I've used it in a pinch.
If I cry for 5 minutes my lids swell instantly, I know you feel like a gargoyle right now, lol. It sucks.

Cold reduces swelling, so maybe try some cold compresses, or cold packs... I'm sure you don't have time to sit with cool cucumbers on your eyes, but you could probably swing holding a cold pack or compress on them for 5 or 10 minutes each hour for a few hours... that's usually what I do after I'm all puffed up after a good cry!
Happy Birthday to your precious son! Have a wonderful day, with no Dad Drama!
Merry Christmas, R.!

I heard of putting spoons in the freezer and then putting them on your eyes.
Also, just an ice cube rolled around or a pack of frozen peas.
(I think it was Brooke Shields that gave the spoon advice).
If you've already cried a ton, don't do anything to irritate your eyes anymore.
Drink lots of water, get through the day and go to bed early so you can rest.
Best wishes.

Try a cool washcloth on closed eyes. Make yourself a cup of tea and try to relax. If it dosent go away explain that you must be allergic to something.(like PMS)

Cold washcloth. Some people use cucumber, but in a pinch, just lie back with a cold washcloth on your eyes for about 10 minutes. You should look much better.
Have fun at the party!

Try putting something cool on them. It can be very refreshing.
Dampen a clean wash cloth, put it in the fridge for awhile, then put the cool cloth over your eyes.
You can also make some chamomile tea (use 2 tea bags), chill the tea bags afterward and put those over you eyes.
Slices of cucumber on your eyes will help if you have any in the fridge.

Probably warm teabags over the eyelids and it needs to be caffienated. The caffiene will help with the swelling another thing to try-some cucumber slices. May be take some aleve if you have some because it is an anti-inflamatory. Happy birthday to your son. God bless. Things will get better.
ps. if you like to work out go on the treadmill for a half hour,it does wonders for the mind and will help you deal with the stress.
