"Need Dog Vet with a Heart, Not One Trying to Retire off Me"- Thank You All
To all of you who took the time to write and share your vets with me, thank you so much. Cynthia appears to be a neighbor of mine and recommended a place just minutes from where we live. Snickers appears to have recovered on his own and is once again trying to assert his authority over us, but we will get him in to the vet as soon as possible. Hope everyone has a Merry (if not a white!) Christmas!!

I don't know of a hospital in your area, however, what you are describing sounds like a parasite. My mom has an older small dog (JRT) and she's had it several times. They can pick it up pretty much anywhere outside, and it causes lots of digestive problems. It can be fixed with medication and a little time. My mom has 2 other dogs, same breed, and they have never gotten it. Seems like the older dogs are more suseptable.

Please try Noah's Ark Animal Hospital in Lexington. Phone is ###-###-####. Dr. Gibson or Dr. Neusome. They are great! Tell them about your issues and hopefully they will work with you. When you call ask to speak with Brooke. They are in Chinoe Shopping Center on Chinoe Rd. Open late on Wednesdays and 1/2 day on Saturdays.
Tell them Teresa told you to call.
Good luck!!

Lisa this is a long way to go, but Dr. Locklear in Lumberton (SouthEastern Vet Hospital) is great. Don't know about sliding scale but he and staff are very caring.
He sees all my poodles and has cured one that was very ill. She is fine now. He is currently working at solving a health crisis with one of my other female poodles.
I live far from Lumberton but feel that this clinic is the best.

We really like the Banfield vet association. There is a banfield clinic in every petsmart store. The have what they call the wellness plan where you chose your level of care (basic to advanced tier) and then you pay a monthly bill. We have the basic for our cat - like 10.00 a month and the medium plan for our dog since she's older and requires more stuff, I think it's like 15.00 a month. The plan includes your yearly vaccines and fecals (which would cost more than 120.00 a year anyway. But the best thing is that ALL offices are included, plus some other things thru out the year, I can't remember what. This has been great since our dog has troublesome ears, so whenever I suspect she has yet another ear infection I can take her in without being worried about a charge. We have been with Banfield for over 10 years, 1st in FL and then just transferred our contract up here when we moved. The only down side is you are hooked into a year contract, so if you don't like it you still have to pay the rest of the year out.
