Need Divorce Advise/ Lawyer Not Too Costly

I am going to throw it out there. I am finally throwing in the towel and calling it quits. Can anyone offer advise on how to go about getting a divorce? I would also need some lawyer references? I do not make a ton of money and everyone tells me it is super expensive to get a divorce. Please help??

I am also going through a divorce a nasty one at that. Mine is a little more difficult then usual cause my husband is in the navy, but my advice to you is keep it as civil as possible. If you guys can come to some sort of an agreement about the kids, house, fianaces ect....then do that cause its a lot cheaper that way. Its when you start fighting over things is when it gets expensive. Good luck in whatever may come.

It depends on your husband and how easily he'll let go. I am having a friend of the family handle my divorce, who quoted me the "Friend's Price" of $1500. My husband has dragged his feet every step of the way, set bogus meetings up (all racking up the fees) and has also refused to reply to requested forms so that we had to re-request until we had to petition in court for him to comply (court fees!). A year and a hlf later my legal fees are up to $12,000. It's a roll of the dice so, shop around for attorneys, brace yourself for the worst, and hope for the best!

It can be costly if your husband is going to contest. I can refer to you a good attorney that deals with strictly divorce matters. He is very well experienced in that area. He is located in Uptown. His name is James Kurotsuchi and his number is ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. It doesn't hurt to call him with questions. Tell him Brenda w/Dean's office referred you and he'll take good care of you. Good luck!

i pd 500.00 for my divorce 6 yrs ago, i don't have my atty # any more but you can find her in the yellow pages, her name is paula weisburgh down town chicago, i wont be to bad if you have no property to fight for, and both of you agree on everything. the longer you fight the more it cost, and if you have 2 kids make sure you get to claim them on your taxes, if he gets them he will just get the money he pays you for support right back!! good luck!!

J.,

I am going through a divorce right now. If you both agree on how things will be divided and if there will be joint parenting, it should not cost you that much money. Lawyers around here are all pretty much the same price and will charge you for everything. The more you can agree on with your soon to be ex, the more money you will save in lawyer fees. Here is my lawyer she is in Oakbrook- Kathryn Harry- ###-###-####. She is doing well for me so far. If you have any more questions you can email me @ ____@____.com luck,

Have you tried other venues such as counseling or advice sessions from someone who is experienced with marriage issues? I know YOU want out, but your children probably don't...
