Need Cute Ideas on How to Tell My Husbands Parents We Are Pregnant Again

Now that everything has sunk in about this surprise and miracle, we are ready to start telling people that we are pregnant. I'm looking for ideas other than having our youngest wear a "Big Sister" shirt. Yes, it is cute, and we will probably do that the day we have the baby with both kids, but I want something that is really going to shock and surprise them and that is not the "Big Sister" shirt.

With our oldest we got a "Grandma" and "Grandpa" onsie for each of them, wrapped them in diapers, wraped them in paper and put them in gift bags. With our youngest I can't remember how we told them? Ugh, pregnancy brain. Thanks for the ideas!

What can I do next?

I told my mom by giving her a "gift" of baby yarn and a baby blanket pattern to crochet. She started crying when it sunk in. So that's my suggestion, if any of the grandparents are "crafty" in any way, give them something to do for the next several months while they are waiting.

Congratulations.

We told my parents by asking them what they were doing on Valentine's Day next year (our due date). They were confused until we said, "Well, how would you feel about becoming grandparents that day?"

My Husband used the game Mad Gab as inspiration and found a way to turn my name into a clue and then added 'peg tent' at the end. My MIL decoded it pretty quickly but she sure sounded silly saying it over and over again until she realized what she was saying
Good Luck and congrats

I usually just causally drop it in conversation with family, like "Gee, my pants are getting too tight, you want to go maternity clothes shopping with me?" or, "I'd love to have the spaghetti, but this morning sickness is a killer."

I love how everyone just stares all confused and they are like, "what?, "are you serious?", "repeat that again?"... then I can't hold the laughter/smiles back and everyone just has the biggest laugh. I don't know, maybe I'm just weird! Not very memorable, or big announcement wise, but fun for me.

You can have your little girl tell them in a cute way. Maybe get her a new baby doll and take it from there. Show up to their house with a bundle of "congrats" and "baby" balloons.

I'm a big fan of the framed ultrasound. When we were ready to tell my inlaws we waited until the future gramma's birthday. We wrapped the framed ultrasound and being a nurse and all, she knew what it was after the first rip! She burst into tears (of joy!)

Maybe you could go out to dinner and have the waiter write it on the check! Not to insinuate that they would pay but it'd be funny to have the waiter drop the check in front of them with something pregnancy related.

Congrats and good luck.

Congratulations!!

When my hubby and I had our first child, my brother already had 2, so ours was the third grandchild for my parents. I sent them a Camp Grandma cookie jar (the design we used is no longer available, but there is a new one here:http://store.countryshabbychic.com/camp-grandma-cookie-ja..., with a gift card saying "Two grandchildren is nice, but three is enough to start your own Camp Grandma". It was really a hit! It sits on my mom's counter to this day, 9 years later! There is also a cute Camp Grandma cookie plate available: http://www.amazon.com/Camp-Grandma-Cookie-Plate/dp/B000LD...

My nephew handed us a business card that said I'm a big brother. I thought that was cute.

For my dad and his wife: wrapped a blue pacifier in anonymous paper with their address on and told them "I just found this outside your door..." it was funny! For my mom, I just told her because she was living abroad.
For my mother in law: she collects charms, so I made one for her in gold shaped (again) as a pacifier. For my father in law and his wife: at his birthday we bought shoes his (big) size and the same shoes baby size...his wife "got it" first but he was left speachless! Congratulations!

My father in law loves the comics and will often save a good one for me to see when we stop by. So when we announced baby #4 we took a pic of the positive pg test (ok, all 4 positive tests, because we wanted to be really sure! lol) then called the in laws and said "I just saw the funniest comic on line about the GAPS diet and emailed it to you" (MIL is really into GAPS) then insisted on them looking at it while we were on the phone. FIL got it right away, MIL was trying to figure out but then went crazy happy when it sunk in=)

with our last for the out of towners we sent a picture frame that said " me and my big sister" with a picture from the ultrasound on one side and my daughter on the other.
for the in towners , we went to a family gathering , with my daughter wearing the " big sister" shirt and waited to see how long it took for them to notice

We did handmade cards with a note on the outside to call before opening. Inside was an ultrasound photo. Not the big wow, but since it was distance or was fun to hear the reactions.

Make an art poster with your kids with cute wording : bun in the oven, due date, our family is growing, etc have the kids hold it, take a picture and email or text. Or a big arrow on the poster ponting on your belly, how cute. Congratulations!!!!
