We are having a boy soon.. and we don't have a single name picked out yet!!! I have gone through name wizard, read books, searched online, asked friends, looked through daycare directory... everything. Every name I like, my husband vetos. and vice versa. We settled on a girl name before we even got pregnant... but still can't decide on a boy name.
We have a Brayden James already. I like unique, different, contemporary names. Our last name is Collins.
Any ideas??? thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

My favorite boy name is Sawyer. I think Sawyer Michael Collins sounds like a name that you could say when he is in really big trouble :)

I am hearing a lot of Grayson's now. Our youngest is Keaton, and we've only even met one other Keaton. And my other son is Cameron. I like names that aren't too odd, but not a name you hear every day.

I like different names too. We ended up naming our son Bryce, which isn't too unique but it's not one you hear all the time. We also though about Colson, Colton or Cade ( I guess we had a thing for C's). I wanted to name him Sawyer, which is my moms maiden name, but my husband didn't like it because he thought of Sawyer from the show Lost. We liked this website: http://www.angelfire.com/id2/heathersnamepage/

Good luck!

We had the same issue of agreeing on a boy's name with both of my pregnancies. We kept the genders a surprise, but somehow, we managed to have girls' names before I even got pregnant both times (and they were two different names, at that). Halfway through my first, we decided on Vincent Thomas (Cook is our last name). Four years later and two months ago, we had our second boy, and we still hadn't decided on which of two names we liked better. Finally, in the recovery room, we both agreed on Julian Alexander. The other name we liked was Quentin. There are so many great names out there!

Don't have any suggestions for middle names because I always like to save that for a special person -like a Grandpa, Dad, Uncle, Special Friend etc. That might be something to think about is what are male names on both sides of your family or special friends you and your husband have had through the years. Maybe you could combine a name. Here are some first names to contemplate:
Levi, Cort, Clark, Carter,Drew, Quinn, Blake, Taylor-thought of a couple more today-Hunter, Heath...think of what is "typically" a last name like Harrison, Garrison, Cooper-you get the idea...you don't hear those as often and are all great names!

Also, start looking at the movie credits and watching movies and writing down male names you like. Think of some places you've been to or travelled to. You'll be surprised on what you come up with. Let us know what you decide...
There are so many great ideas on here.
All The Best!

I like a hard C sound to go with the Collins. If you do a CJCollins, he could go by "CJ" if he wants.

I like Brayden though too. When we were searching for names for our son, I wrote down every name I liked that I saw on tv and movie credits. My husband didn't like anything I came up with and vice-versa. We didn't have a name agreed-upon until after baby was born. We ended up with "Vince", not my first pick but it fits him. I prefer two syllables or more.

I like:

Wylie
Trip
Coop
Cash
Cole
Chord
Van

We have a:
Jacob David
Matthew James
Gage Michael Edward
Dylan Zackary Allen
Korbin Shay
Wyatt Brodie

My hubby and I had a terrible time agreeing...I like the unusual, and he is a Michael that likes the usual. The 2 first boys on the list are his from a previous marriage and the last 2 on the list are ours together...but boy was it a compromise! If it was up to me, I would have had a Coop, a Trip and a Wylie....instead I have a Korbin, a Wyatt and a Gillian! *The 2 in the middle are nephews :)

Good Luck! Naming them was always the HARDEST part for me!

Bradly or Bradley. I have a Bradly and everyone hates that I did not spell it Bradley.
Also Andrew, Todd, or Andrew Todd,
Kelton,
I agree with you wanting something different. my name is L. and my husband's is Scott. Way too common names in the 70's so when we went to name our children we found old names that just are not around as much now days.
Our daughter's name is Cynthia or Cindy
Good luck.

Hi,

We have a Benjamin Richard and a Philip Alexander--probably doesn't fit with your preferences, but, FWIW..

How about
Brent
Jayden
Jason
Beau
Addison
Micah (old--Bible name--but uncommon)
Marcus

Good luck and enjoy your kiddos!
