We want to throw a shower for a friend of ours at work (she's in her 20s, first child (girl)). The shower will have men and women of varying ages. None of us can think of any "games" or "activity" that would be fun for all. Do you have a link or can you describe a good game that would be good for men and women to play?

What can I do next?

I just did a shower for my daughter. Two of the biggest hits were:

Ewww! What's in that Diaper? Take 10 diapers and smear 10 kinds of candy in them. You can melt, smear, smash, and form various candy. It's pretty funny watching people open the little diapers to see a huge mess inside. I simply labeled each diaper with a 1 - 10.

Feed the Baby: This one can get messy. I draped a plastic table cloth over the laps of everyone, and put a plastic bag over their clothes (tear a place for the head and arms.) One person was the mom the other was the baby. Facing each other, the mom was blindfolded, baby had to say, "ma ma, ma ma." Each person has a small jar of baby food. I was nice and got plums. You wouldn't have to be so nice. The blindfolded mom had to feed the baby the jar of baby food with a baby sized spoon. I had three teams rather than everyone. The first team to finish the baby food was the winner. It was a blast to watch! Oh yea...don't forget making the babies wear bibs!

1) standard game of guessing the size of her belly and using ribbon, TP to guess (winner gets a prize)

2) have everyone bring a baby photo in, put them all in a basket and have each guest draw one and try to guess who it is. this is fun for all!

Those are all cute games that have been suggested so far. One that we did at my shower was they had a potato dressed up like a baby and we had to hold it in between our knees and race to drop them into a bucket. It was cute, fun and I can imagine getting some good laughs at seeing the guys do that one, too.

I just went to a shower that had 2 cute games. One was like a 'Name that Tune" type of game. Every song had baby, girl or daugher it is.(ie. Ice Ice Baby, Sweet Child of Mine, etc) Great game is you like to download music. Another fun game was the candy bar game. Guests are read a 'pregnancy and baby' related clue and asked to guess which candy or candy bar correlates to the clue. The guest with the correct guess gets the candy bar! Here are some examples:
Labor and Delivery

Epidurals* (Life Savers)
Delivery doctor (Butterfinger)
Labor and delivery nurses* (Sweet Tarts)
Daddy during delivery* (Bonkers)
Umbilical cord* (Twizzlers)
Hospital nursery*(Cry Babies)
Hospital bills (100 Grand)

The entire game can be found at this website: http://baby-shower.yeahbaby.com/game.php?page=candy-bar-b.... Lots of fun. Good luck finding a game that is the right fit for your office!

Hi ,
I recently hosted a baby shower and two of the games were huge hits. The first one was Nursey rhyme jeopardy. I found it on a website and made it on a poster board and laminated it. And as they chose their question and money, I marked thru it with a marker. It was loads of fun.http://www.plan-the-perfect-baby-shower.com/jeopardy-nurs...
Also , the other game was played with each person pulling out their own dollar bill, and when you say go, the first one to circle all the letters in the babies first name wins all the dollar bills. ( you will want to check first and make sure all your letters are there.) Check Hobby Lobby for your prizes. They always have half off of stuff and huge clearance items ! Good Luck !

Of course there's always a word scramble where you scramble the letters in pregnancy-related words (lyievrde = delivery), if the name has been chosen, you see who can make the most words from the baby's name (Kimberly Xochitl: exit, chill, etc...), and one of my favorites is where you smear several types of baby food on diapers and guess what the food is (peas, squash, meat, apples, etc...). Hope that helps!

Somethign really fun I did for my sis-n-law is make her a mum to hang on the hospital door and then transfer to the nursery using ribbon created from a game at the shower. Take various colored ribbon (since she knows it's a girl, use a couple different shades of pink and white/ivory), get a couple different colors of marker that would be flattering to the different shades of ribbon but will show up when you write with them. First everyone gets to take some ribbon and cut it to the length that you would think would fit around her belly. If she is not far along and still preety small then change it up to what you think will fit around her belly at 9 months. Then everyone gets to write either words of wisdom to mom, dad, or baby; good luck, congrats, enjoy your last couple nights of sleeping through the night, etc. Then make a mum out of it. You can either give her the ribbons and tell her that is what it is for or you can purchase the stuff in advance and make the mum for her to take home that day. Its really a fun game and then making the mum for them makes the memories last a lifetime.

We recently held a wedding shower and there were two games that were popular and easily adapted for a baby shower. Pick up about 10 items that pertain to baby and put them in a basket and then play "price is right" Let the hostess pick up each item, give a brief description and let the guests guess how much each costs. The one closest to the total amount wins! And then the mother to be has a whole basket of things she might need for baby. It was fun to see what the honoree guessed and the price guesses really varied a lot. We bought everything on the same receipt, so we had an official total. You might put in baby wipes, wash cloths, a toy, little socks, and all the things baby needs. We printed up a form listing the items so they could write in the amount and had a place for the total. The other game might be to set a timer for the baby's due date when she starts opening presents and when it goes off, award a prize to the one who brought the present she is opening. If the due date is Sept 15 then the timer would ring 9 minutes and 15 seconds into the present opening time.

For a couples shower i like to baby race....
2 babies, diaper, clothes, etc....
Race to dress next person has to change the diaper etc.... Try to keep the outfits equally matched (small or large buttons, zippers, pants or dress etc... That way its fair)
also, sorry to say but the guys love the baby bottle chug contest. Fill the bottles with beverage of your liking and say go. It is funny! Also there is the guess the flavors of baby food. Make number cards for the players and they have to use baby spoons to sample #1 and write their answer on the card and go to the next, etc. You can blind fold and feed the person for more difficulty... A great prize is a gift card for food. Cheerio toss, the kids like this and of course the guys think they are super stars. Set up bowls at different levels and mark yourself a distance to toss from. The different levels are worth different points. Set a timer and let the tossing begin. Add up points of number that lands and the winner gets a family size box of cheerios. For added chaos, if you're looking....pass out tin pie pans and wooden spoons and tell everyone to have at it while the tosser is trying hard to get their cheeerios in. Good luck!
