I would try prune juice and or eating apples and grapes. My daughter has problems in that area but she has learned to eat alot of fruit and salads. The doctor recommends not using over the counter for small children becuase it really isn't safe. A warm bath also helps. Don't let the child go more than 6 days. I used powders that the doctor ok'd over the counter but that can cause the runs. it's tasetless and you can mix it with anything. Call your Doctor office and speak to his nurse.

I do not know about this product, but I do know that for a more natural aproach and without the opposite problem occurring, you can drink a couple of ounces of Alo Vera Juice a day. I have never used that product but I get a cleanse mixture from Nature's Sunshine that is called Clean Start that is wonderful. Or you could just get Casacara from them and that would work great.

My husband and I have both used it and would highly recommend it. We did the cleanse the first time about 4 years ago. I had never really had bowel issues prior to the cleanse, but I was not terribly regular. I would often go a day without a movement, but since then I have been as regular as could be - two movements a day with few exceptions. I never had any crazy stuff come out during the cleanse, but I don't eat food that is likely to carry parasites. I have had two babies since that first cleanse and had no trouble getting back to my typical bowel movements after they were born. We just completed a second cleanse a few weeks ago. It was uneventful, but it is something I would like to do each year (if we could afford it!). If you can afford it, I say go for it - it is good stuff (just be careful about any warnings if you are breastfeeding).

I personally would not recomend that product. My mom and I both suffer from chronic constipation, she saw the infomercial and thought we should try it. I've used it and my mom and brother have to. We got great results. My brother actually eliminated parasites! I had the same problem all through my pregnancy. My doctor actually told me to take Mylanta for heartburn, but I noticed as a side effect, it really helped with constipation! None of the flax, fiber stuff worked for me, but I still try to eat high fiber cereal each day, just to keep things, ahem, moving...

My sister and some of her band mates used this product a couple of years ago. They loved it. I wanted to go thru a 'cleansing'...not because I have/had any problems but just to cleanse. But I was already pregnant again and you can't do those things when you are pregnant or nursing.
Basically so far, all the feedback I've ever heard has been positive and not a scam.
But I agree that you might want to balance out your stomach flora also - or first, with a probiotic (acidopholis(?)).

On the flip side of all this ...because our bodies do go thru so much because of the birthing process....you might want to get some recommendations to a good Chiropractor. It's not 'automatic' that everything goes back into place after giving birth. And for all you know you could have had some minor unnoticeable issues prior to child bearing. And constipation is now just one symptom.

Have not tried it. But would suggest that you try magnesium ( most of my clients are low in magnesium) and then Probiotics on a regular basis.

Steps to avoid constipation; drink PLENTY of water. (at 8-16oz servings per day), increase fiber, both in your food choices and supplementally, avoid caffeine, and get 20 minutes or more of exercise every day. If you still are not "regular" with all those changes, see your doctor.

I am not familiar with the product that you mention. You might try taking a magnesium supplement before you go to bed. Soloray is a great company and available at most health food stores. Start with a couple of capsules. If no luck, try three. Everyone I have EVER recommend try this has had good results. Best of luck to you!
