I have a 2 year old that needs out of his crib, quick! We have a twin bed for him, but we won't be able to get it for another month or so and I need something to bridge the gap. I'm not looking for something nice and expensive, just functional and a bargain.
I know there are some consignment sales coming up... surely someone out there was thinking of consigning their toddler bed... ;)

Put the crib mattress on the floor. Put a door-knob cover on the inside of his bedroom door to discourage might-wandering.
Get a tent!!!!!!! Yes, I am serious. The little pop-up tents from Walmart are great. The kiddos think they are camping and have a blast. We just created a "nest" with pillows and old blankets- let them take in a couple of books and "wild" (stuffed)animals and of course a flashlight.

Check www.craigslist.org for one. Click on Dallas and then in the For Sale area, click on children's stuff or baby stuff. Type in toddler bed in the search area. I see toddler beds in there all the time. The cars, trains, etc that people are trying to get rid of...anywhere from 25bucks to 75 bucks. You can turn around and sell it off of C-list when your bed comes in. Hope that helps!
