Need a Safe Method for Ridding Yard of Mosquitos

Hi Moms! My backyard is swarmed with mosquitos...what is the absolute safest way to get rid of them?! My little boy loves nothing more than to be outside, but we are just overwhelmed within 5 minutes of being outside. I want my backyard back!! Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Here is a garlic based product we buy: www.mosquitobarrier.com You have to reapply every so often and especially after rain, but it is healthy & safe and it does work.

I saw something at Lowe's and I don't remember the details, but I do remember that it emits sound maybe? and it's supposed to clear an acre of mosquitos. You plug it in. I think it was a bit pricey...maybe $100-200. I'd bet it'd be worth it though if it works!

The garlic based stuff that you spray works well - you kind of have to spray your neighbors and your alley too, but it's very reasonably priced and completely safe.

Vinegar of the 4 Theives is an AWESOME insect repellant. It takes a while to make, but I keep it year round.

I know the mosquitos are so bad right now. Have you thought of planting a mosquito plant? You can buy them online. We just purchased a mosquito repellent patio lantern by Therma Cell from Home Depot. Not sure if it will work, but my husband was told it works good. He does Archery shoots and they all carry them around to keep the mosquito's off. My little one is allergic to them so we have try something.

They have organic mosquito sprayers, I mean people to come to your house. You could spray listerine from a water bottle, I heard that helps. Also, you can give your kids B1 vitamins, the mosquitos don't like it.

Check out the website for Dirt Doctor (I think it's www.dirtdoctor.com). He is an all natural gardener and has some great ideas for getting rid of mesquitos. He also has an all natural mesquito spray you can make to put on you and your kids.
