Need a Pyschiatrist with Sliding Scale Fees

A family friend has no insurance and needs to get her daughter some mental health counseling. Are there any that do this on a sliding scale in the Largo Area?

What can I do next?

Dear D.,
Greetings!!!

I'm wondering if your friend has thought about researching homeopathic and natural remedies instead of taking her daughter to a psychiatrist. Please remember that kids are ALIVE and have feelings and spirit and do not deserve to be labeled or medicated which is what a psychiatrist will do. I definitely know this from personal experience and also from working with kids. In fact, there are many low cost natural solutions that can actually help with what your friend's daughter is going through.

I recommend checking out 5 organizations validating why going the natural route is best for your friend's daughter:

You'll also find some amazing data regarding alternatives at: http://www.cchr.org/solutions_and_alternatives/

And, D., please ask your friend to watch:

Dear D.,

I'm curious, what sort of difficulties is your friend having with her daughter? Is she possibly interested in any other options besides seeing a psychiatrist?

I would like to highly recommend a visit to this site:

There are many solutions offered, and not only will it be beneficial for her daughter's health, it can very well be the low-cost solution, with wonderful results, she is looking for.

Tell your friend to look into Suncoast Center for Mental Health. They are located in St. Petersburg. In Clearwater there is Diretions for mental health. I am not 100% sure if they do sliding scale but if not they may be able to refer you to an agency that does. I would also contact the health department and see if they can provide any assistance or DCF. She can also call 211 which is a reall great resource that can link you to agencies in the area. You get to speak to a live person and they will provide you with resources based on what you are looking for. Best of Luck!

I don't have any info about the pyschiatrist. But I have some information about work from home. I am 41 and a mom of twins also. But mine will be 8 years old on the 30th. I also have a 15 and 12 year old. ALL BOYS. Please email me at ____@____.com if you would like more info.

Try Directions for mental health on Belcher near Rosary, or call the Dept of families and children to ask this question or to see if they have a program still. I used to take my child to the one on Roosevelt for counseling. good luck, Sincerely F.
