Need a New Printer!!
Naturally I have to ask you Mom's what your using these days in the Wide World of Printers for the computer. Not to print photos or color really, just an all in one, printer, scanner, fax. Bottom Feed!
I have had an AMAZING HP 950 series for the past 9+ years! SO Great!! it really was terrible on INK, but it was the fastest fax and scanner that anyone who ever used it, thought so too! Hp even said it was their Best series to date. Really I thought from a sales man right? =).. but it DID last forever with out one single problem other then the price of INK was $60 twice a year to replace, and you HAD to have a color cartridge in there to run it. Hp said they have worked out all the commom complaints now a days. its been a decade, i hope so. so obviously i would run right out and get another HP, but... I really rather ask you all first before spending an unexpected $250 on a new all in one. but i cant live i see quickly with out a printer... map quest by hand anyone! =).... so i would love to hear what printers you are all using. remember that i do not print photos and all that cool stuff, just basic black, with the occasional color!
THANKS A ZILLION as always!

HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-one. Has the fax option, but I've not ever used it. Scan and print all the time, though. Has the scan in black-and-white option; not too bad on ink. Older model, bottom feed, had it for almost 4 years with zero problems.

We have Epson, wireless, does everything. LOVE it. I think it is Workforce 750 or something like that.
I love doing my work whereever I want, printing and when I am ready go get my things off the printer. No cables, etc.
Our ink is pricey, I spend at least $100 for complete refills on the high end Epson ink. They do last a long time though.

If you had the space, consider what I did. I got a refurb laser Brother ($69?)from Fryes. The ink lasts forever and it is cheaper to run. Then I got a Canon on sale ($129) as the all in one that was wireless so I can put it further away. I would use it mostly for copies and faxes and scanning documents to my computer. And it is there for any pictures I want.

That's the printer I have and i LOVE it. I bought mine at Sam's Club for $80 this past spring. The ink is actually refillable. i also bought the refill kit for $15 about 3 years ago, and am still using the same refill kit. So I know these cartridges are refillable with out a problem. I love that it's wireless and super easy to setup. I have it put out in another room, and no matter where I am in the house, or what computer we are on, we can print no problem at all. it does a GREAT job for scanning in photos as well. I didn't purchase for that reason at all, but since I have had it, I have learned that. i am in the process of putting all the pics my parents had onto disc. I bought one of those photo scanners and it sucked, so i tried this, and it's great.
Everything is quick and fast on it. And there are a TON of different ways to set up your printing for what is best for the printing you are doing. I don't print photos, so I don't have to buy the special ink for that. if i do print, it's for the kids only, and those get 4 pics on a piece of paper and they are excited no matter the quality.

I have one of those fax/copy/scan/photo capture/print by Brother. Its the MFC-495CW and it is awesome. It's a little on the pricey side but changing the ink is easy and you can do one - three button touches to handle any of the functions. I don't think I would buy less of a printer after this because it meets all needs at once. Oh, and it's easy on ink use.

I have always been pleased with Cannon printers. The ink is much more reasonable, and I have a great website (123inkjets.com) where I can get it at a fraction of the cost and it works just as well as the cannon brand of ink.

we have the hp 6100-6000 i am not sure which number but it works awesome we don't use fax so i can't say about that and it is a all in one. but the scanner printer and copier work fast an efficiant. the one thing i don't like about it is you have replace ink cartriages alot!! it takes like 6 colors with a black cartridge and it take color from all the colors to make black instead of using the black cartridge only so all the colors run out before the black one does. Dumb! I know if we would have known we would have got a defferent all in one from hp but they said thats how all of them are know a days so Good luck!!

I love my HP Officejet 6500. It's an all in one with multiple color cartridges so you don't have to change when you run out of one color. Have only had it a few months, though, so can't vouch for longevity yet. My last HP lasted years and years!
