So What Happened?

Many thanks to ALL of you, particularly to Kimmie G, who sent me this web site: http://www.infantswim.com. It's wonderful! I found exactly what I'm looking for, she teaches survival skills.. I have a pool and there's not much chance the lil girl can get outside to it but it's still scary to me! This helped A LOT... registration is $105 (well worth it to me!), I'm signing her up as soon as possible!

HI there. I am not sure where you are located, but my son and I are signed up for a mommy and me swim class in May at the Barbara Wackford Aquatic Center in Elk Grove. They have classes at Elk Grove Park as well.

Here is the link that I have http://ereg.yourcsd.com/Start/Start.asp?SCheck=1024550622...#

If it doesn't work try www.yourcsd.com. They are 4 day classes for 1/2 hour each and it is the Turtle class. I can't wait for the classes to begin.

Congratulations to you!

I'm not sure where you live but the Fremont Swim School in Livermore is excellent. Also there is a school in Pleasanton, http://www.infantswim.com this teaches the baby to swim fully clothed in the event they fall in. It teaches them to fall in flip on their back and cry for help as they get to the side.

If you are in The City ... the Janet Pomeroy Center (formerly the Center for the Handicapped) by the Zoo is great. ###-###-####

I do not live in your area, but I would say to choose a program based on the training the instructors have. We have a great swim school here, with talented teachers. However, I have heard that some programs have untrained people teaching who do not have a lot of experience. One of my friends had a bad experience where her baby went from loving the water to fearing it after a very young teacher "dunked" him under the water.

If you find a good one it is tons of fun and so good for your baby.

Good luck!

We love Sea Otter Swim School in Loomis. It's right off of 80, so not too far from Roseville or other areas nearby. Great, patient teachers. The facility is tented, too, so it's not too uncomfortable in our really hot summers. They're about to do open enrollment for summer classes right now.

Try your local parks and rec or the YMCA!

Try the recreation part of your city. A lot of times the city or area has community classes that can be taken. Also try your local community swimming pools or the Red Cross, they may offer swim classes. Good Luck!
