Need a Midwife Recommendation

I'm looking for a midwife to do a homebirth. I'd also like to hear stories from families who have done a homebirth.

What can I do next?

I don't know it South Bay Birth Alternatives is still active in San Pedro; the midwives there were wonderful with me both with prenatal care and on my daughters birthday 22 years ago. We live in Huntington Beach, but it was well worth the drive. I wouldn't trade my home birth experiance for anything. My husband was my birthing chair; two of my sisters served as my footrests; my mother was my assistant coach.....in fact, it was the closest I ever felt to my mom! My daughter was born smiling! If you want more details, you can email me. Good luck, L.

Hi L.!

I'm not a midwife, but a doula. I can tell you that Candace Leach at http://www.birthgoddess.com/ is highly recommended. E-mail for anymore questions at ____@____.com

i had a midwife with my second and did a homebirth in goleta, santa barbara. i dont know where you are located but my midwife serves the LA area as well, or she used to at least, that was four years ago!

having a homebirth was one of the best decisions i have ever made and am so sad that i cannot afford it with my last two, it was great to have a loving midwife that cared about me and my comfort and helped me deal with anything that was bothering me and gave me the best advice.
go with your gut instinct when it comes to choosing a midwife to deliver your baby! and dont wait too long because i know some places do not take pregnancies after the fifth month.

good luck and m so proud of you fellow earthy mama!

I went to South Coast Midwifery, in Irvine and I had the most amazing experience. I love them and there office. The entire package was great. If you need a doula or help with natural labor I used Carol Thorpe.
