Need a Little Fashion Advice

I have a holiday event to go to this coming weekend and am having a heck of a time finding something to wear. I have a dress that happens to be a maternity dress (not currently pregnant) that I absolutely LOVE. It's not obvious maternity wear. It's a nice jersey fabric, hangs nicely with not at all an abundance of fabric in front, just a slight gather at the bust. It's very similar to all the trendy empire waisted stuff on the market. Do you think it's ok to wear it? I'm very comfortable in it, it's pretty and would be perfect for the event. What do you think? The hang up is that it's technically a "maternity" dress. It would save me time from shopping and not to mention the $$ on another outfit I would probably wear once. And I'm a size 14 and it looks like the stuff in the plus-size catalogs.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I wore the dress an as soon as we walked in my husband's boss complimented me on it ( a guy)! I bought new shoes and jewelery to go with it. Thanks for all the encouragement to go for it!
Thank you!

Go for it, no one will know it's maternity!

Hey, if you feel comfortable in it then go for it! Enjoy the event, L. B

I say definatley wear it. All the fashion right now looks like maternity clothes anyways with the empire waists and flowing fabrics. Your dress sounds perfect for a nice event. You can always dress it up a little with a nice pair of dangling earings or pretty necklace. I am all for re-wearing clothes. There are a couple maternity things of mine that I still wear, might as well get a lot of use out of them.

I say wear it! I've worn some of my favorite maternity shirts before that didn't look like maternity shirts way way after having my daughter.. If it bothers you enough cut the tag out.

The biggest key to being in fashion is to look like you know you look good. If it looks good on you and you feel good in it, go for it!! Jazz it up with a few hot accesories, like some great dangle earrings and bangle bracelets. Get some great heels and you will be set!! Have a great time!

I say go for it! As long as you will not be concerned about it while you are at your party. If it being in the back of your mind that its maternity might bother you, then you should get something else. Besides, there are so many cute plus size clothes out there. Fashion Bug is the best! They are so stylish and cute and comfortable. There's no better time of the year to buy a cute comfy outfit. You deserve to bet a new outfit and show it off!
