Need a Good OB/GYN

I totally loved my former Ob/Gyn - Dr. Marion Bissell. She is located in Springfield, VA (near Springfield Mall/at the beginning of the FFX Co parkway) - I was with her for over 8 yrs and only had to change doctor's once I became pregnant because we moved to Fairfax and needed an Ob/Gyn closer to our home/who delivered to a hospital closer to our home. She only delivers at Alexandria Hosptial.

She is part of OB Gyn Associates of Northern Virginia but she was my sole OB/Gyn.

I completed understand your situation as I moved to the area when I was 8 months pregnant and had to locate a great OB/GYN rather quickly. I currently live in Springfield and I use Dr. Glenna Andersen's practice in Fairfax, VA. The drive is only about 20 minutes from West Springfield and their practice is completely worth it. They are extremely professional, always available, very accomodating and they treated me like a lifetime patient after only one visit. I strongly recommend their practice. There are 5 doctors on staff and 2 nurse practitioners. One of the doctors is always accepting new patients and I have seen all of them and had extremely positive experiences with each one. Also, this practice is rated as one of the top OB/GYN in the area quite regularly by the Washingtonian magazine.

I don't know how far you are willing to drive, but I love, love, love my doctor (Christine Colie) at Georgetown Medical Center. When pregnant, you see every one of the doctors in the department, which is typical. I liked every one, and when I delivered, was very happy with the two doctors on call (Gloria Bowles-Johnson is still an attending, but the other has left). If they are accepting new paitents, I would recommend her or Colie.

I recommend the practice of Andersen and Maanavi. They are located at 8501 Arlington Blvd, Suite 300 in Fairfax. It is a practice with all women, and they are all wonderful. I am going through my third pregnancy with them right now.

Hey M.. Congrats on being pregnant. That is very exciting. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas Scott in falls church. Love Love Love him. Everyone that goes to him also loves him as well. He takes his time with you and you get an ultra sound everytime - he really is fantastic. and takes really great care of you.

I love the practice I go to. It is located in Fairfax and the delivery hospital they use is the Fair Oaks Hospital(also very good!). It would be a little bit of a drive for you but they are excellent. The Practice is Tepeyac Family Center. It's actually a Catholic practice which I found out after I started going there, but I'm not Catholic and all the doctors, nurses, and girls at the front desk are great. I have two children 3 1/2 yrs old and 15months. I delivered both of them with Tepeyac and had all my regular visits with them as well. I am now 11 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy and haven't had any complaints. They are great!

Dr. James Kacedan and Dr. Kathy Wolf are in Fairfax City and they are excellent! I was in the same boat as you being pregnant and not having an OB-GYN in the area. They came highly recommended to me by a lot of ladies that I work with. They are very nice and listen to you when you have questions. Their office staff is very warm and professional too. I also used Dr Andersen's practice and they are exceptional. They have 5 doctors and a nurse-midwife on staff - all female, which I liked - and they are wonderful about responding to your needs and concerns.

Its the only ob/gyn I've ever been to that use actual cloth gowns (they launder them in the office = ), and they have different things up on the ceilings to look at. But even more importantly, Dr Andersen has a tremendous amount of experience and is wonderful - her whole staff is.

I found them through a referral and when I talked to my friend here at work, it turned out that Dr Andersen was who had delivered her son - now 20 years old! She has only wonderful things to say about her and the practice as well.

I've had my OB/GYN for almost 10 years (yes the same doctor delivered all 3 of my kids! I would highly recommend Dr. Knudson. He is located near tysons corner, but it is not far of a drive at all.
