Need a Dessert for a Halloween Party
Hi moms! We have been invited to a Halloween party and I need to bring a dessert. Any suggestions for non-fussy, easy to transport desserts that will be enough for a lot of people? There will be about 100 people there. Obviously I am one of many bringing a dessert but I don't want it to be skimpy! Thanks in advance!

I was just at a fall fest over the weekend and someone brought brownies with a large marshmellow on top with white icening over top to make it look like a ghost with 2 black eyes dotted on. Not exactly sure how the marshmellow attached to the brownie. but I thought it was a great and simple Idea.

The classic dirt recipe is what i always take you know with the pudding oreos and gummy worms. You can also do the top to make it look more like a halloween dessert in the past i have used the keebler sandwhich cookies to make it look like tombstones and the gummy worms to make it have the "graveyard" affect, i have also just but globs of coolwhip on top then add mini chocolate chips for eyes for ghosts, they even have candy eyeballs out for halloween you could put those in there or just the plain dirt recipe with the gummy worms only i think would be fine. HOPE THIS HELPS.
DIRT
1 pkg oreo cookies
1 (5 1/8) oz box instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (8 oz) container cool whip
1 (5-8 oz) pkg gummy worms
1. Make the pudding fold in cool whip
2. Mash the cookies
3. Place 1 / 2 the cookie crumb on the bottom of glass bowl, spoon in the pudding mixture, place the worms half in half out and top with remaining cookie crumbs. (I sometimes use a square casserole dish when I do more decorating to it, it just seems easier that way)
4. Chill

Here's a chocolate dessert that I once adapted to fit a Halloween party (thanks for making me remember it!).
1 box Devils Food Cake mix (and the ingredients to make it)
1 12 oz container Cool Whip
1 pkg chocolate mousse mix (I've found it by the pudding mixes)
1 pkg chocolate chips, any size or kind
red and yellow food coloring
Make the cake, make the mousse, thaw the Cool Whip.
Color the Cool Whip orange with the food coloring
Preferably in a glass trifle bowl or some other glass serving dish or pan (so that the colors and layers show better), layer as follows:
Cake on the bottom, then mousse, then Cool whip, then sprinkle chocolate chips to cover.
Repeat layers, making sure you end up with the colored Cool Whip on top with the sprinkled chocolate chips.
Easy, festive, and CHOCOLATEY!!

How about a pudding pie with Halloween gummies in it? They are quick and simple and you can make more than one easily. Buy the premade graham cracker shells. Buy the appropriate number of vanilla pudding mixes (tint it in Halloween colors if you want). Mix in Halloween themed gummi treats (or crushed, colored, chocolate baking disks in Halloween colors). Put some more gummies on top to decorate.
Or what about a Jello poke cake. You'd have to check the jello website for directions, but you could use a white cake mix tinted orange with grape jello added as directed.

My niece gave me this recipe and it's really good. Its pumpkin muffins with chocolate chips. You can make them mini muffins if you'd like so you have more to go around.
Pumpkin Muffins
1 can pumpkin (small can, mine is 15 oz)
1 c sugar
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 stick butter (melted)
2 eggs
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1 c chocolate chips (I like the mini chips)
Mix it all together and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
I haven't ever made the mini muffins, but my niece has. Have fun, whatever you decide to do. :)
