Nausea for Days but Not Pregnant

I have weaned 3 and I never had neusea. With my second pregnancy the test kept saying negative.................. Good luck- keep us posted!!!:) Just read a few posts and I want to CONGRATULATE you for nursing this long. I nursed all 3 of my children and nursing is VERY hard!!!!! I know mothers who nursed their children passed 4- not that I am recommending that -I or should I say my children all decided at their own time (longest til 2 also). Please do not listen to any negative comments about the nursing- that is between you and your daughter!!!!

Just wated to tell you I think it's GREAT that you're able to work full time and that your husband is willing to stay home. I work full time, as does my husband, but we share the child care equally. I it's a great example to your daughter that gender doesn't dictate what you do in life. Good for you!!!

As for your symptoms - I would take another pregnancy test and call your family dr. They'll be able to tell if you need to see your GYN or if this is the start of the flu/cold.

I am not sure of nausea is a normal side effect, but I did not experience any when I weaned my daughter. If the pregnancy test is incorrect, congratulations!!

Could you have a stomach bug? I have never heard of nausea due to weaning. You should probably wait a few days and if you don't feel better and still don't have your period, take another test. If it's still negative, go see the doctor.

I don't know the cause for the nausea part, but I'm experiencing something kinda similar to you right now. I just weaned my 12 month old and I had my period since he's been 4 months old, and now that I stopped nursing, my period is like 3 weeks late, and I got a negative pregnancy test. (2 actually!) So I'm kind of chalking it up to hormones from stopping nursing, but if I were you I'd definitely test again, then call your OB/GYN. Also, there is a lot going around right now, maybe the nausea is due to a virus? Best of luck to you!

I also think that you should take another test, it sounds like you really may be pregnant. I just wanted to say that Barbra R (i may have spelled it wrong) may not know that there are false positives also. I had one myself about a year ago. There are a few medicines and things in your urine that can cause a false positive. I wish you the best of luck and i say congrats if the next test is positive :)

Your daughter is two years old and still nursing....she could be the reason for hormonal imbalance and for nutrient loss. Your body is a mild milk machine giving her the best nutrients that you have.
As an older nursing mom, you are allowing yourself to be run down and your nutrient level low.
I would definitely make sure that you are getting the proper nutrition for yourself. Your two-year old needs to be on her own as her teeth are in to chew the food and generate a good eating appetite.
Although you may like the special nursing time with her, you might want to make special toddler time with her in another way.
You may want to start her reading. The Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential has excellent programs for encouraging the "little ones" to achieve at an early age....giving you a little more freedom.
I had my last baby at 39. I was on a nutrition program, and my last was my healthiest. Take care of yourself if you want to see another baby before perimenapause.

Hi D., Each pregnancy is totally different. I have three girls and each pregnancy has it's own story. It is actually amazing how differently each one was. Follow your Dr's advice and wait a week or so and try again. Best wishes.

There is such a thing as a false negative (all positives are valid...but negatives can be wrong)...try the test again.
