Natural Stain Remover?

Does anyone know a good stain-remover for the laundry that is natural, without petroleum, bleach, fragrances, or other harsh chemicals? I only use Green cleaners in my home, and so I will not use products such as Shout! and Tide Bleach Pens. I normally use 7th Generation on my clothes, and Green Mountain Baby on my son's clothes, and I have always been very pleased with both, but the baby-food carrot, sweet potato, and tomato stains are not coming out in the wash, even when I use hot water. I'm really not sure what to do! His clothing is staining so fast that I'm beginning to consider just stripping him before every meal. If you have had a good experience with a product, please let me know!

I recently bought the reader's digest book: Homemade.

It has a bunch of solutions for a multitude of things. You might enjoy it.

Tomato sauce remover:
1/2 c 3% hyrdogen peroxide 3 c water
soak 30 min before laundering

Hello! We too try to live a Green Lifestyle. Another Green friend of mine pointed me in the direction of the most amazing stuff. It is called Nature's Miracle. This stuff will take out anything. The only place I have found it sold is at Petsmart, here is the website. http://www.naturemakesitwork.com
Good Luck!!!

believe it or not there is a natural stain remover and it is called borax 20 muleteam.try that with vinegar.yes there is a specific vinegar as well make sure its applecider vinegar.make a paste out of the mix and put it on the spot.

Hot water sets stains in especially anything in the red color line. If being green and budget friendly you'd be surprised how flexible vineager is in cleaning.

Fels Naptha!!! Works great! My husbands 86 year old grandmother told me about it & I have told everyone I could! It is a little hard to find but you can find it online & at small hardware stores. It is a very old bar soap but works great when a little water is added & you apply to the stain with an old tooth brush. Good Luck!

I know how you feel about stains! When my son was a baby, he would spit up daily, sometimes several times. It seemed like it was always carrot/sweet potato baby food, too! So, I went through a lot of laundry stain-removal spray. The products I used were free of the harsh chemicals you are concerned with, and they worked great. I use products from Melaleuca. I have been a happy customer for over a year now. They have some great products to get even tough stains out of the clothes. Let me know if you need more info!

Have you tried drying the clothes in direct sunlight after you spray/wash them - sometimes I have clothes come out of the wash (after being sprayed/scrubbed) with a food stain - put it in the sun to dry and the stain is gone...doesn't work on everything, but worth a try. Good luck.

Hi A.,
Good for you avoiding all those nasty toxic ingredients! All of Shaklee's products fit what you're looking for and in tests they cleaned better than even the products you're already using. They have a brightener called Nature Bright but I use the liquid laundry product to spot treat stains then add Nature Bright if still needed. You'll find these products are considerably less expensive than 7th Generation, too. Here's where you'll find Nature Bright (and the other products too). Keep up the good safe product use! http://changinglives.myshaklee.com/us/en/products.php?sku...
