When I was like 36 or 37 weeks my dr had to do a stress test (b/c I lived so far from the hospital) to see if the baby to handle the trip if I were to go into labor at home. Anyway she made me stimulate my nipples and I started having contractions(hard contractions) and as I was getting ready to leave she told my husband and I NO SEX or we will see you sooner........SO HAVE LOTS OF SEX........!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too am right on the verge of popping, but I am only 38 weeks!!! Check this link for some things that people have told me, although my doctor has specifically said none of them work. He did suggest the first two with my last pregnancy, but neither worked for me.

Lot of people have sworn to me that the Castor Oil works, but it is highly debated. It makes you very sick. Just make sure you do your research before you try any of these.
Good luck

In the book What to expect when expecting it gives the tip of stimulating your nipples to help bring on labor. The details are in the book.

nipple stimulation. That's what worked for me. I was 35 weeks 6 days pregnant with twins. 36 weeks is full term for twins. I did it that morning in the shower, and went into labor that night at 9:00. It kinda scared me when I went into labor. I was wondering if I should have done it, but both babies were as ready as they could be, they were born so healthy. That is something I saw other people doing while I was pregnant,(on a pregnant internet site) so I tried it, and it worked. My husband & I had intercourse that morning also, so that may have played a role in it. Best of luck to ya.

I agree with Sherri, be patient. I was very impatient with all 3.
Your time will come. I know it is miserable, I bled for two weeks and had very strong contractions for weeks before mine. It will be over soon and a new chapter will start. Try to enjoy yoour last few days because your whole life will change shortly. I do not mean in a bad way it is just different and willl never be the way it is now. Good luck!

I have heard that going for a ride on a boat might help. Know anybody with a ski boat?? :)

Oh hunny...let me just tell you!! I was 2 weeks late and miserable. I tried everything that anyone and everyone told me to. I walked and walked and walked, cleaned until there was nothing else to clean. I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floor and even drank that nasty stuff everyone told me would for sure make me pop. AND still nothing. The one day that I did nothing and excepted the fact she would come when she was ready she came. And she was ready. I only had 7 minutes of hard labor..and best of all no meds. So, I'd say relax and you'll pop. Best of Luck!!
