"Natural" Face Cream Suggestions?
Hi there,
Does anyone have a "natural" face cream they like? We use green cleaning products and natural body soaps, but every day I slather my face with Oil of Olay or Nutragena face cream (with sunblock in the summer months). Maybe these products are fine and safe, honestly I have no idea what ingredients are good to avoid. I remember a website that listed the healthiest/green sunblocks for kids, and am wondering if the same list of products exists for face cream for mommies?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Go to the environmental working group site-- they test all of the face creams for toxins and tell you how dangerous they are. http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ goes right to their "skin deep" page or go to www.ewg.org

The skin deep database by Environmental Working Group (www.cosmeticsdatabase.com) includes adult personal care products. I bet you'll find something there.

www.safecosmetics.com - you can look up ingredients and product lines. Ingredients to avoid, per this and other sites, include: parabens, sufaltes, sodium EDTA, dyes (of course!), anything "methyl- ", fragrances and if I can just put a plug in here, please avoid using anything that contains "Squalene", unless it is plant-sourced.
There's a reason that Oil of Olay and Nutrgena products are so inexpensive - because they are made with plastics (parabens) and other petroleum products. I personally love the eDerma line. And I have friends who love Aubreyand Arbonne. There's no arguing that the Oil of Olay Regenerist lines make your skin feel amazing, but they come with stuff we don't want - plastic and by-products should not go on our skin!

Hi a good natural face cream is jurlique ( I thinks it's sold at nordstrom) but if u r after a less expensive brand check out whole foods they have a great selection of natural skin care and sunscreens. If you wear makeup you can use a natural mineral powder foundation made with zinc which will provide the sun protection you need without using a chemical sunscreen.
