When I "retired" 5 years ago, I was making $12/hour.

I would say at least $350-$400. When our nanny had our boys full time we paid her $375.

I have been a nanny for the past 10 years and it really depends on how many children you have and what extra duties(housekeeping, laundry, etc.) you want her to do. I get paid anywhere from $10-$20 an hour, depending on the needs of the family, so I would say at least $400 to $450 a week is good. Also realize that most nannies have contracts stating about vacation, holiday, and sick pay so you should talk about those things when you interview. The average contract allows for paid Holidays(just the main ones), one week paid vacation after 6 months employment(and it goes up each year or so), and paid sick leave is really negotiable...some families offer it and some don't. I usually ask for 3 paid sick days a year(after six months employment). Good Luck!

It really all depends on her experience and how many kids you have. I would expect to pay anywhere from $12-18/hr. Also make sure she's cpr/first aid certified (it's a state requirement for all childcare facilities, so it's just a good idea). Also, it's a good idea to have a 90 day trial period in case thing don't work out for whatever reason (even if it's just a personality issue).
