I have yet to find an honest one in The Woodlands so I am eager to see these responses. I can tell you who not to use though - please do not call Kool Breeze.

Hi S.-
We've had two different AC companies come to our house. Big Tex is the company that our new home warranty was with so they did a few minor repairs when we first moved in. They seemed good, but of course we weren't paying for anything since it was under warranty. After our warranty expired we called Big Tex to come out but since they charge to come out we called Southern Comfort Services instead because they'll come out for free to give you an estimate. We ended up hiring Southern Comfort and we were happy with the work.
Good Luck,
K.

We've used Builders Mechanical Inc. who was recommended by our builder, here in Spring. They can be reached at ###-###-####. We had similar problems with some rooms being cold and others hot. One problem--some vents were closed, and we didn't see them becaue the exterior vent cover was open. You might check your vents in each room to make sure they are all open. Next you might check the air intake vents, where your filters are located. If you have a system like ours, then you'll have two very large, expensive filters in the attic, and won't need additional filters at the intake vents in the house. The AC guy said it was restricting airflow to have both sets of filters. If you call an AC person, they should check the temperature of the air coming from the vent in ALL rooms, so you know what the different temps are in your home and can adjust from there. Also since different parts of the house get more or less sunlight, then you'll have warmer or colder areas. We have two AC units and two different thermostats, and we keep one colder than the other to balance temps. Good luck.

We use Hal Watson and have for years. Our first interaction with them was several years ago, on July 4th weekend. Our whole system needed to be replaced, but since it was July 4th weekend it couldn't be done that weekend. Knowing that the repair guy fixed our system so it would work temporarily and get us through the weekend. We have since moved and continue to use them for our yearly service.
I've heard good things about Larkin also, but when we were having our problems in that July 4th, they were already booked and couldn't get out to our house.

We have always used Indoor Comfort Specialists. They are great and very trustworthy. We had the same problem with my daughter's room and they ran another duct and fixed the problem.
