Does anyone know of a reasonable nail salon that specializes in doing manicures and pedicures for children?

What can I do next?

There are quite a few in Anaheim Hills. I don't know what you would consider reasonable but I brought my girls to one that is located in the Big Lots shopping center at Fairmont and Santa Ana Canyon Rd., in Anaheim Hills. They do have child pricing that includes both.

They are okay. I have since changed salons and now go to the one in the L.A. Fitness Shopping Center at the corner of Santa Ana Canyon Rd. and Imperial Hwy. But, I don't know if this one has a kids deal.

Hi there - most places will do children's nails. I have 2 daughters. age 2 and 9 and the 9 year old has been going with me since she was 2. Of course the baby goes with us now :)

First - they ask you if you want them to cut their nails and do the cuticles. Or at least they should ask you. Second take your own manicure/pedicure set for each child. I even have them take their own polish. A Nail Place with experience in children will NEVER cut their nails or do their cuticles.

They will only have them soak and clean their nails then polish. For pedicures, make sure they have the plastic bag or disinfectant solutions!! This goes for adults as well!

Hannah's Nails in Glendora are great with my girls! They treat them like their best guests and the owner's wife even polishes their toesies :)

Another great place in Nails Spa in San Dimas on Lone Hill. However, they get really crowded even with an appointment.

Hello,
Personally, I have to agree with SUZANNE on this one. Besides the issues of kids growing up too soon these days with all the ads and tv shows marketing at a higher level of understanding for certain issues that's unecessary, I think there are definitely health issues involved. I know from experience that I picked out what I thought was a clean and established place and now my toenails are pretty much screwed up for life. You can't tell when they are polished, but when unpolished they are hideous. Whereas before, they were just "unpolished."

So, if you are going to take her somewhere, do what the other mom says and bring all your own sterilized stuff. However, wouldn't it be more of a mommy daughter moment, if you just painted them on her herself and left the salon for your special moment?

It's not a life shattering issue, but that's my 2cents.

Good luck!

I know many will disagree, but I don't think children should be getting manis & pedis at the salon. Aside from possible health issues, children allowed to do all things teens and adults do, will have nothing to look forward to at a later ages. Don't rush your kids. They will push the limit with multiple piercings, tattoos, drugs & who knows what else. Don't you remember looking forward to the day you could shave, wear high heels, wear makeup, etc? I know it sounds old fashioned, but salon manicures was saved for jr. hi with my kids. Hair color change is reserved for high school, etc. I do however permit fun kid friendly nail painting at home. I know it sounds silly, but let the kids be kids.
