N. Seattle Swim Lessons in Private Pool?
I've heard there is a woman teaching swimming lessons to kids out of her home somewhere in North Seattle or possibly Shoreline area. They are supposed to be fantastic lessons. Does anyone know how to contact her? Any experience with her?
I've got a daughter on the verge of swimming and want to keep up the lessons during the school year. We love the summer classes at Blue Ridge Pool and are looking for something super fun and positive like those lessons during the school year.

If it was the one on the news months ago, it's Angelfish Swimming. http://angelfishswimming.com/
I would take my daughter there if they were a bit closer. They have a great business philosphy and reason for their work.

I knew of a swim instructor and her program called Kidswim and she ran it out of the Elks Club pool in Lake City and then she was going to run it out of her home pool. Her daughter worked with me at the phone company and she was a swim instructor as well. The program was extremely successful and parents and kids alike loved her and swimming. I believe her name is Joan Breda. I hope this is the program you're thinking of. If it is, you and your daughter will have gobs of fun and success!!!

I'm not sure this is the same person, but you might want to check out www.lindariggins.com. I saw her ad in the Seattle's Child/Parent Map magazines and I know she gives private lessons or lessons that include no more than 4 children per class. Very one-on-one instruction I hear. Hope this helps... good luck!

K.,
I don't know of this woman you're looking for but I can advocate for YMCA lessons. The Dale Turner Family YMCA is in Shoreline and hasn't been open a year yet (we opened last Oct). Through the Y swim classes are offered for kids as young as 6 months old. If, for whatever reason, your child would not to well in a group lesson setting there is also the option of private lessons in our pool, and also parent/child classes if your daughter is 3-5 years old.
I teach many of the parent/child classes, and all the levels, as well as some other classes where mom and dad sit on the side and cheer.

Hope this helps,
