i am not sure if this remedy will work on permanent marker, but it has removed all other stains i have tried so far. boil some water and pour it over a scoop of "oxy-clean" in a very large bowl. put in the affected clothes and stir around with a wooden spoon (and be very careful of the scalding water!). you can remove the clothes with tongs and check the stain to see how it worked. put them back in the bowl for a longer period of time if the stain is still there. once it is gone, simply rinse with cold water and then run through your normal wash cycle. good luck!

I can tell you that the marker might take a few days to wash off, but it will go away. As for the clothes.....they pretty much might be shot :) My daughter used to do that same thing. I finally gave up chasing her around all day making sure she didn't color all over everything within 2 feet off the floor, that I gave her one wall in her bedroom to color and draw on. I also bought some poster board for the downstairs walls. It helped curb her urge to draw on herself, the furniture, the mirrors.....everything she could reach basically. Some hardware stores even have chalkboard paint. It's black paint and an instant chalkboard.......which far less messy than markers. There are also the markers and paints that only color on certain paper. And I am sure you know as well as any of us moms that no matter how high up you put something up, when a curious little one wants something they WILL find it.

okay on a table you can use dry erase markers and it will lift the permanent marks.

Now on the child I usually use a little cotton ball and some alcohol. Not a lot but it sometimes gets it off. But if not I figure it is part of growing up and it will eventually wash off. My girls like to draw lovely tattoos on themselves, yeah!

Good morning K.! You are not the only mom whose little one likes to draw on themselves. I experienced the same thing with my daughter when she was 2 she helself drew all over her body and I just couldn't think of what would get rid of the marker, low and behold I called poison and control to make sure what I was about to use wouldn't harm her and I used the household cleaner suddenly orange and I was impressed it removed every bit of the marker off my daughter, although I did have to regive her a bath to give her a for sure clean body. All I can tell you is to give it a try. The awesome orange that the Dollar Tree works also. Well good luck to you and have a Great Day!

Have you tried to use aceatone nail polish remover it should take it right off..

From my experience, the marker drawings on her skin should be gone after a few days of regular bathing and hand washing.

If it is in fact permanent marker you probably won't be able to get it out of her clothes. I would suggest spraying the affected areas of the clothing with your favorite stain remover. Use a soft brush (like a toothbrush) to gently work the stain remover into the stain. Again, it may not remove it but it might help fade it. For stubborn stains on white clothes, I sometimes dip a q-tip in bleach and rub in on the stain. I then rinse the clothing well before putting it in the laundry. I've never tried this with color-safe bleach but it might be worth a try if the clothes are colored.

My son just received Color Wonder markers, fingerpaints and paper for his birthday. The markers and fingerpaints only work on the Color Wonder paper so he has been painting and drawing his little heart out without any mess. Good luck!

Wow, you do have your hands full. What a blessing though! As for the permanent marker, not sure about getting it off of her, have you tried a vinegar water mix? I know it'll probably smell gross, but it works for other types of things. Or I've even hear of lemon juice doing the trick (that might smell better - LOL). As for the other places of art, I work for a company that sells a great product that does get out permanent marker. I'd love to share it with you if you are interested.
