My Last Ovary Dilemma

So I am having a tough time with my last ovary. I had two ectopics while both of my tubes were tied (YEAH....I KNOW...IMPOSSIBLE RIGHT?) so one ovary and tube removed in 2004 due to a ruptured ectopic then other fallopian tube removed in 2006 due to an ectopic leaving me with just one ovary...well....I have what you call polycystic ovaries so I hurt all of the time. The other day my ovary was hurting so bad I was thinking that I had another ectopic. Hurt to walk. I was balled up crying and didn't want to move when I got home. I could barely I went to the hospital and discovered that I had a ruptured cyst. Since it was so small, they didn't do anything but give me pain meds and send me on my way because that is basically all you can do unless it is over a certain centimeter but long story short....I WANT THIS GOD FORSAKEN THING OUT! So did a follow up with my ob a week later... who I been with like forever.... said he won't feel comfortable with removal since it is my last ovary and it will create hormonal imbalance and a host of other menopausal problems and that I am young and if I was 50 years old then removal would be justifiable and since I am not like dying then he really don't see a need for removal. Now I just remarried and my current husband only has a 9-year old son. I have a 15 (almost 16) year old daughter, a 14 year old son and an 11-year old son. Now we were thinking of having anothe one but ivf is so expensive that it is just not feasilbe. Especially with our poor credit. So what would you do? Do you go see another ob doctor for removal? Or wait it out to see if maybe we could eventually afford ivf? I want it out but I don't want to feel empty when I can't have another child when I may want one someday down the line.

Any ideas?

What can I do next?

I have cysts as well. My ob finally said that I could go On a constant dose of birth control. I have a period every 6 to 7 months! It's the best thing ever. I have not had any issues with this treatment. Also, I would look into a hormone therapy if you do wish to have another child. It is slightly less expensive and may do the trick to get the other ovary going and up your chances of conceiving. Hope this helps!

I agree totally with Christy J. You need to decide with your husband if another child is what you both want. Then proceed from there. So sorry you are in so much pain from that! Hope you are feeling better. Good luck!

Tough one. I think first t hing is first, sit down with hubby and maybe even a reproductive specialist or a counselor and sort out the feelings around having another child. Both of you need to decide if this is what you want for your family and futures. Once that is really sorted, you can move forward with your thoughts and feelings on the procueedures that follow (weather IVF or Removal).
Good luck sorting through this.
OH! many reproductive specialists will sit down and have a free or low-cost one-on-one consultation with you!! I know you said cost was an issue. This consultation could also provide you all with a reomendation of a reproductive counselor.

Cystic ovaries can be healed through proper diet. I will not go into a lengthy answer here, writing all the things you need to change. But I will tell you that if you eat properly you can heal your problems. If you're interested in this information, I'll gladly give it to you if you contact me.
No, not trying to make money, wouldn't do that just don't want to waste my time typing if you don't believe it or aren't interested in making these changes.
