I did a care bear party for my 3 year old. Everyone dressed as a color of a care bear and / or rainbow. We played pin the cloud on the rainbow. We had cupcakes with care bears on it. We played pass the care bear with music. ( like the musical chairs ). I ordered party stuff on line and it was just so cute. We read a book on the carebears too.

Pretty simple, but fun.

Whatever she is "in to". Ask her if she has a theme she would like. From there, have games or crafts that mimic the theme. You could also just go somewhere (The Little Gym, a bounce house place, etc.) and let the kids play. Hope this helps!

My daughter turned 3 last week. We did a TinkerBell themed party with her cousins, about 7 kids. We did snack foods, chips/dip celery and the black olives where a huge hit with the kids. They put them on their finger tips and ate them all. Had cake and ice cream and open presents. It was all with in an hour. The moms where happy because it was Valentines weekend and they wanted to get things going for their night out.

We had our daughter's 3 year old part in Nov. We don't have many family members here in the area. So, we had our friends in our playgroup come over (4 other kiddos) with their mommies at noon on a Saturday. We had Dora and Diego as our theme. We played pin the watch on Dora (found at party supply store), ate "lunch", put together Dora cupcakes (from the website...assembled frosting, hair, etc.), ate cupcakes and opened presents.

I tried to discourage presents by asking our friends to bring donations to the local animal shelter. I wish everyone would have complied. My daughter cried because she was so confused as to getting her gifts and then her little confused friends wanting to take them from her to play, too. Such a rough age and concept. She LOVED taking the donations to the shelter.

We then had the family party (only one set of grandparents and then babysitter and her family over) during dinner time. We had more cake and opened their presents.

Keep it SHORT and SIMPLE. Don't overplan the activities and schedule twice the time you think it will take for each activity. Keep it under 2 hours....and closer to 1.5 hours.

We did make up Dora party bags for the friends and my daughter. Good luck and HAVE FUN!

She's little so keep the party short and small. My son (about to turn 3) went to a party on Sunday night at a "bounce house" place. My initial reaction was not positive b/c those places make me insane, but the whole party (including "bouncing", pizza and cake) was under 2 hours. There were 10 kids and parents were asked to stay to supervise and have dinner. He ran like a crazy man for the entire party and said "Mommy, that was great" as we were leaving.

It actually made me re-think the whole concept of a kids' party b/c they all had so much fun!
