Hi,
I gave up gluten about a year after my twins were born. My nutritionist recommended that I give it up. Anyway, I wasn't trying to lose weight, but when I gave up the gluten, I probably dropped 10-15 pounds and my pouchy belly shrank. It's still not what it was before the twins were born (they are now almost 2), but I don't think it will ever go back to the way it was before.
Good luck!

Hello! I know how you feel. My son is two now, and I still have a bit of a pouch after a c-section at 40. But it's gone down considerably from those first few months. You might look into Bounce Back Fast, an exercise program by a woman who says the normal crunches don't do the trick (and can make things worse) for new moms with abdominal separation. (I've not been doing this program routinely but should get back into it.)
Oddly, my body started to fall back into place after I stopped breastfeeding. Maybe it got the signal that I didn't need so much extra fat? (My son did partial breastfeeding with bottle feeding for his first year.)
Keep running Mama! And remember your body has created your beautiful children.

Why would it be any different after a C-section?

Hi,
I am also the mother of twins and had a c-section. My doctor said that the skin stretched so much that it will NEVER be what it was before a twin pregnancy. Exercise can help somewhat, but we are most likely going to have to live with it, or elect for plastic surgery. Also remember that the muscles were surgically altered and may not perform the same. In my case, there is also a great deal of scar tissue in the area (a whole other problem), and that will also cause a larger than "normal" stomach. All & all, do the exercise you can. But accept the change as an trade; for having a perfect body, to having the love and joy of children. I for one am happy to have the Pouch! It's a small price to pay to have twins

I'm by no means and expert here, but a sympathetic c-section mamma :) I had 2 c-sections and I have that gross pooch. I hate it. HATE IT! I started doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels and I've notice it going down. I fear that it's extra skin rather than fat. If that's the case, it will probably never go away. Sigh...... I would think that adding some abdominal exercises to your exercise routine would really help. Or a tummy tuck ;) lol! :D

It's been two years since my c-section and my belly is gone. I did nothing different it just takes some time for everything to get back in place and for your skin to recover from all the stretching. If it is really bothering you try doing more abdominal exercises.

After a cesarean... majority of Moms will never lose the pouch, because the breach of abdominal wall muscles. Breastfeeding allows your body's metabolism to work harder and faster as well as quickens the time your uterus takes to go back to original size. With twins, LOL, your body would have REALLY worked hard if you breastfed.

Hi! I delivered our oldest son (now 22 yrs old) by C-section, & my belly has gone down somewhat when I have done crunches & variations of crunches. However, it has never been the same as before I was pregnant. Our younger two (son & daughter) are now 16 yrs & 15 yrs - I delivered both naturally. I think that (like someone else mentioned) there may be some extra skin or something - my belly has not been the same since before I was ever pregnant. Like another mama said - it is kind of like a "badge of honor" - so to speak.
If you find a successful way to lose it or some of it, let me know! I have to concentrate on doing more crunches so that it will go down again. Good luck!
