I would take her to the Doctor already.
She is very young.
YOu want to make sure she does not have RSV or anything. RSV is a very bad respiratory virus, and contagious for example.
Ditto. NO OTC meds at this age, and you need to ask your Pediatrician first.
Coughing can mean anything, not just a cold.
And you want to make sure it does not get worse.
At this age, their immune system is not fully developed yet.
take care,
Susan

if it last more then 4 days i would make an appt with her dr. ask yourself these questions- is she congested? does her cough get worse at night? is she teething? does she have a fever?.
the reason i say to make note if her cough gets worse at night is because thats a huge sign of asthma in babies. thats how my daughter was diagnosed and also from having what seemed like a cold for 2 months. shes on a nebulizer and thats how she gets her medication.
you can give her childrens cough meds what youdo is just give them 1/4 of the lowest dose. if cough meds dont relieve the cough after a day of it stop giving it to her because she could have asthma.
another helpful thing is to do is get her a cool mist humidafire.
please please please dont let her dr rule out asthma because your baby doesnt weeze. my daughter was diagnosed with and her lungs have always sounded CLEAR! no weezing except for once and the dr could barely hear it. her asthma attacks her airway and makes it inflamed causing her to couh. i took my daughter to he dr every week for almost 2 months before she was diagnosed with asthma and got the nebulizer. please dont stop taking her to the dr because they say its just a cold. if she still has symptoms a week after the dr visit take her back and continue to do until you reach a diagnosis.
good luck i hope your baby is better soon.

At this age there are no OTC meds that are considered safe for babies under 2 yrs old. So, check with Pedi first before giving her meds.
Humidifier...if you have Vicks brand they make strips and drops that you can use to ease congestion.
Vicks Infant rub works good too. Is the cough coming from runny nose or dry cough?
If she's had these symptoms longer than 3-4 days definitely take her to the doctor.
Good Luck!

See the Ped to make sure it's not something serious and in needing treatment. At that age I used homeopathics to treat my son's cough. He only had a cough for a couple of days.

Hi J., what we did when our little one had a cold and cough was to put a humidifire in his room, elevate one end of the crib, so he was in more of a recling position, this helped him breath easier. J. L.

Doctor First. My doctor was able to subscribe a safer medication for my son that really helped him. There really is not medication a child can take at that age for a cold.
