My 4 Year Old Daughter Has a Rash with Raised Bumps on Her Bottom.
My 4 year old daughter has a rash with raised bumps on her bottom. She says it does not itch but there are even bumps around her bottom hole? It looks horrible, any advice??

Another possibility ... does she wear a pullup at night? It could be diaper rash. If you rule out a virus, try using diaper creme or after bath letting the air on it before bedtime.
Best of luck.

Try Boudreaux's Butt Paste. You can get it in the diaper section at most stores. It's what we used in the hospital any time anyone (young or old) got a rash to their backside, and it works wonders. If that doesn't work, ask your pedi. Good luck!

red raised bumps? Sounds very much like yeast. You can a prescription for nystatin powder or ointment. It doesn't resolved quickly, also, let her bottom get some air a couple times a day.

This is how Coxsackie virus presented in my 1.5 year old. I would watch them for blistering and check the inside of her mouth/throat for developing sores.

Is your daughter night-trained? That is, does she wear some sort of diaper at night? If so, when she urinates it might pool around her bottom until it is absorbed. And however quickly it is absorbed, it's still there next to her skin the rest of the night. I had a similar issue with my daughter. What worked was to start wiping her with a wet wipe every morning before dressing for the day.
Also, I've begun waking her in the night to go to the bathroom.
If she's not in a diaper at night, perhaps it is a reaction to food. Anything new? Spicy? Is there any history (hers or family) of food allergies?
HTH and if something wasn't clear or if you have a question for me, please don't hesitate to email.

Have you considered yeast? Try a very thin layer of over the counter Lotrimin a few times a day (for a few days). I would probably go ahead and call the nurse at your pediatrician's office and talk it over.
