Moving to Tucson from Michigan
Hi, my 4yr old daughter and I are moving to Tucson in August. I just wanted to ask for any advice, suggestions that other moms have for us about playgroups, things to do, what the best elementary schools are, good areas to live/areas to avoid, anything that you all think I should know about Tucson.
Thanks in advance for the advice,
K.

We live in Rita Ranch on the SE side of Tucson, and we love it. The Vail School District is AMAZING and we are within minutes of grocery shopping, doctors/dentists, banks, food, you name it. The area continues to grow, and more things are popping up all the time. There is a close community feeling and activities at the neighborhood park, etc. I have been lobying to get a library, and we are hoping for that in 2008-2009.

Do you know which area you will be moving to? Tucson is not super big but very spread out and I agree, it can be hit and miss with good areas but avoid the areas already mentioned and you are going to do great.
We are moving in a few weeks and have only been here for 2 years. Hard to leave as there are alot of parks, rec areas and libraries that have great play groups to join! The Tucson children's museum is AWESOME, along with the Reid Park Zoo~both very affordable and child friendly. They were a staple when we first moved here.
It does get a little bit of snow in the winter so that was a surprise to us!! Just wanted to add that and hope you enjoy it here!!
