I was a military wife for 10 years and we lived on post here at Fort Stewart and I didn't feel safe at all...I had 3 children...
I am now remarried and have a house in Gumbranch it is so wonderful out there...I know that they are building some new subdivisions out that way....

I have lived in the area for 28 years and know that you need to be careful of some of the mobile home parks. Cedar Hill, Sandy Run and Eagle Creek are bad places to live. Eagle Creek especially. Alot of break ins there. There are not alot of apartments here, they go from low income to gated communities. There is a bunch of new military housing units on Ft. Stewart if you are military. I would check into that. Rents can run from 400.00 for a moble home to the 800.00's for a house to rent. I would contact one of the rental agencys like Trinity Realty or Coldwell Banker to see if they have a rental list or contact the housing at Ft. Stewart before you get here. Deb

We live in the Hawthorn subdivision, and we like it very much. Look up Ashton Drive 31313 and you will find it easy on www.mapquest.com
It is behind another subdivision call Eagles Landing, that all of the streets were named after the original Gulf War.
Hawthorn has alot of houses up for rent and sale right now.
And plus the fact that it is in the Lyman Hall Elm. School district. Lyman Hall is a very good school. My child is doing great, in the 2nd grade and already has an A average!!!

I live in Pineridge Community and love it as well. There are several rental places here that accept pets and we are in the Taylor's Creek district (also another great school). We love the area so much we bought a house here (and we're military so for us that's saying something).

Depends on how far your husband wants to drive in the morning for pt ... if he doesnt care, i say live in richmond hill .. if you WANT to live in hinesville ... just look, there are bad houses mixed in with good ones pretty much all over ... there is a few nice neighborhoods, not GREAT, but okay, that i can tell you about if you want, but it would be easier for me to tell you over email or whatever, so feel free to email me. also there is new condos going up right outside of post, i think they might have single family houses.

Hello, Welcome to Fort Stewart and Hinesville, GA. There are several nice area in Hinesville. It does depend on where you want to live. Living on post is nice if you get the really nice housing in Liberty Woods. Eagles Landing seems to be over crowded if you ask me. Hawthorn is inside of Eagles Landing. Stonehendge has some really, really nice houses. Mills Creek is right outside of one of the gates. I would suggest you come for a visit and check out some of the areas and decide for yourself. Look me up when you get in town and I can connect you with a couple of realtors who are customers of mine. (I have a Mary Kay business) Good Luck

Hi K.
welcome to ft stewart
the best place to live is on post as with a dog there is only on place to have one , and that is were i live deer field trailer park other wise you will not find a place to have a pet. so call ahead to GMH and see if they have a house for you to live.
Rent around here starts at 455 and goes to 900 so on post is the best.
M.
Ps you can email me if you want

With 2 kids Im not sure of what area they would put you in on post. I live in Liberty Woods and the houses are nice, but I also have 4 kids. I dont know if you want post housing or not, I personally like living on post and couldnt imagine living off. If you need someone to show you around you can email me. Good luck! T.
