Moving
I have to do a last minute move and was wondering if anyone knows where I could get some inexpensive boxes. I am looking on craigslist and calling stores not having much luck. I am a single mom on a fixed income. Have about a week to move to my new place. I was originally moving to Portland but now that I am not had to find new place for my daughter cause of her chronic lung disease where I am at is bad. Found a place just really need boxes. Thanks M.
So What Happened?™
Thank you so much for all your help. My move is almost done. We actually got lucky and found some and someone gave me some. This move was so last minute but a good move for me and my daughter. Thanks again very much it was a great help M.

You can go to bagel stores or starbucks etc and they throw away boxes that they have unpacked and are usually willing to give them to you.
good luck

Hi, everyone's suggestions so far are great! I moved to Tucson last August and still have a bunch of boxes you can have if you still need and want them. My mom works at a store in Michigan and that is where I got all of them. They are the big egg boxes they use to ship the cartons of eggs. Of course these are all clean and work well for moving, they're big enough to pack lots in, but not too big that it is too hard to carry them. Anyway, good luck and email me if you want the boxes. Also, do you have anyone to help you move? If not I would be more than willing to help you:)
Have a great week,
K.

Try Freecycle.org or ask at a grocery store or a place like Best Buy that might have lots of boxes.

Hi M.,
I have always gotten them at grocery stores or since I used to work retail the department store, do you have a favorite salesperson somewhere? They destroy thousands of boxes a week!!! Good luck.

Call grocery stores, bookstores, or Walmart type places and ask them to save their boxes for you. Tell them your situation. When we moved out here we were in a similar place financially and could not afford to buy boxes. Our grocery store and Barnes and Nobles were most helpful in procuring boxes. My other suggestion is to drive through your neighborhood the night people put out their recyclables. Most people have broken down boxes that you could grab before waste management comes through.

If you go to walmart between 4 and 5 am, all the boxes you could ever want are free. That's when they finish stocking. I've done it for 2 different moves. Good luck.
