Has anyone seen Thor 2? I know it's PG13 but is it appropiate to take my 8 y.o. to see it?
I'd take my grand kids to see it and they are 6 and 10. They love action movies and I don't think this line of movies will ever not be family friendly.
Really, Ironman 3 was pretty violent but the kids saw it and loved it.
It's a comic book movie. I took my child to those when she was in elementary school.
Daughter saw it last week.
She says there is violence but nor gore. There is cursing, but no sex.. there are scary creatures, so if he gets scared by monsters you may need to consider.
but if he has seen the first one, it should be fine, but may not understand all of the story itself. so be prepared for questions.
It's not bad. There is some violence but the main thing is swear words there aren't too many though if you don't mind them. It's a lot like the set u of batman or avengers if you didn't mind those you won't mind this I think. When it releases for dvd we will buy it and watch it with our daughter who will probably be 5 then
If they saw Thor, they would be fine. It has the violence, but no sex or anything. There was a bit of kissing and it did show characters die, I would say comparable to Lord of The Rings type of fantasy violence and character death. I haven't let my 6 year old watch much of Iron Man (too much sex and drinking) or Captain America (Nazis give me nightmares.) but she was bored watching Thor. She does like the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings movies, though, so if she was into Thor, I probably wouldn't mind her seeing this one based on what she already likes.
I saw Thor last night. If your 8 year old has seen these type of action movies, I think it's okay. It's not real bloody, but there is one death of a major character that is very sad. (Not a bad guy!)
There is a scene where their scientist friend who has gotten a bit crazy from Loki lurking in his head, is shown dancing naked in Stonehenge. The movie theater I was in "covered" his privates (I think it must be like that in all the theaters but I'm not sure). Everyone in the theater laughed at the scene. So, just a heads up on that.
