My husband and I are planning to buy a new bed. We are checking out the Mountain Air Plush Beds at Denver Mattress Company. I was just wondering if anyone has one or knows anything about them. My husband has a bad back and I have heard that air beds are good for your back. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, we went to Denver Mattress Company this evening and purchased the air bed. We will pick it up tomorrow and we have 30 days to decide if we want to keep it or not. So I an not sure how it will all play out, but I will know within 30 days. Thanks for all the responses.

We have an air mattress not sure the brand name. We love it. My husband has a bad back also and it does wonders for him. I love that I can adjust the firmness to however I'm feeling that night. The only downside is that if you find a number you like and keep it there for a few days you need to make sure that you re-fill the air chambers as they do tend to lose air after a while but it's no big deal to do that.

I was in the market for a new mattress last year, ended up getting a Tempurpedic as both my husband and I have back issues. My chiropractor said that she had tried the sleep number bed, which is also an air bed. She said after 6 months that they kept having to increase the number because the mattress stretched out so much. I talked to another friend who had the same experience and the guy at the mattress store said that's what he hears from lots of people that come in looking for a better mattress after they get through with their air mattress beds! I know that didn't directly answer your question, but maybe you might want to reconsider buying an air mattress vs. foam? I sleep sooooo good on my Tempurpedic. There are many mornings I wake up and I am in the same exact position as when I fell asleep. I was that comfortable that I didn't need to change positions all night long. The Tempurpedic mattress was insanely expensive but with a 40 year warranty, we thought it was worth it! It was the best purchase we've made in years.

hi J.

I dont have a air bed, but my husband and I bought a nice mattress from the denver mattress company about 5 years back, I am not very impressed with it, we spent $1200 on it so it was a top of the line mattress but it has made very big indents where we lay and since its only pillow top on 1 side we cant flip the mattress, and I know they have this guarantee and will give you a new mattress but i have to lug this thing in and have them measure the indents only to tell me im sure that its normal wear so not sure if I would buy another one from them or not
good luck in finding one

J.,
NO. These are good for overnighting or camping or something, but for bad backs, these are not good for extended use.
I honestly recommend either Sleep Number or Select Comfort beds. Sleep Number are a part of Select Comfort anyway so find a store and try them out. They have a 20 year guarantee and you can adjust them daily if need be. They are air mattresses and do conform to the body. But they are adjustable and come with high recommendations and endorsements from Chiropractors.

I just purchased a Moonlight Star Serenity mattress for my 3 1/2 yr. old and love it! I did hours of research only to find this one rates no. 1. My husband and I also have bad backs and end up falling asleep with our son only to wake without being in pain. The least expensive store is Baby and Me Boutique online. Good luck with your decision.
