Hi everyone - my brother just called me in a panic because he can't come up with a song to dance with our M. to at his wedding - which is saturday - why he has waited this long to figure it out is beyond me!!! I am coming up empty, so I thought maybe someone in mamasource land would have some suggestions.

Any ideas would be great! thanks so much.

What can I do next?

Here are a few ideas.
Good Luck!

Unforgettable by Nat/Natalie Cole

I am your child by Barry Manilow
(I know it's Barry, but it's not too bad of a song)

Because you loved me Celine Dion

The Wind Beneath My Wings (I danced to this with my dad at my wedding, but it's appropriate for M./son) or Because you Loved Me.

You could always ask your M. what she likes. My MIL picked a song from Fiddler on the Roof to dance with my husband at our wedding. It brought her to tears because it meant so much to her.

How about "What A Wonderful World," by Louis Armstrong.

"You Raise Me Up" by Josh Grobin.

It depends on ages etc. but here are a few worth looking at:

Olivia Newton John: Let me be there
Green Day: Time of your life
Wind Beneath my wings - song by several different artist
Bette Midler, Celine Dion etc.
Bette Midler: Did you ever know that you're my hero
Elvis: You were always on my mind

This one is good but it's about a mother/daughter: Mamma Mia
Slipping through my fingers
It so depends on the mother and son relationship for any song. Does the mother have any special artist or song? Elvis played a big part in my growing up years. Momma Loved the Roses is a good one also but not sure if it is really appropriate.

Good luck. There are so many more for a father daughter than a mother son.
Give your brother my best and tell him to enjoy himself and make sure his bride does the same.

Another huge shout out for "A Song for Mamma" by Boyz 2 Men. Since my dad wasn't in the picture, I danced to this song with my mother at our wedding. Later in the song my husband and his mother joined us on the dance floor. I cried during the entire song because it meant so much to me. It is a wonderful song to pay tribute to your moms!!
