Morning Sickness - Barrington, IL
Hi Mama's
Ok I know this question has been asked numerous times but here goes....I am expecting baby number three and I am in the middle of my sixth week....and yep sure enough today started with the "all out" rollercoaster of nausea aka. morning sickness LOL!Any suggestions on how to help it a bit...I am working fulltime and the bosses do not know nor do I want them to until I am further along. However, I need to be able to function and do my work so any suggestions would be very helpful :)

When I felt like I was going to throw up, chewing gum stopped it every time.
Lemon water helped to a point.

I took Zofran and it was like a miracle. I highly recommend it. Only side effect I experienced was constipation, but it was much better than the all-day nausea and vomiting.

Girl, I hear ya! I'm at 8 weeks and have random bouts of nausea. The other have good suggestions, but in the meantime while you are waiting to see your doctor you can try the following:
-Tiny/small snacks every hour. Even if it just 3-5 Ritz crackers or a handful of nuts, it might help.
-Stay hydrated. Yeah, I know the constant peeing is not fun but staying hydrated will definitely help. Alternate water with Gatorade or a similar product.
-Some people recommend ginger ale or peppermint candies. I never tried them myself, but I've heard they work.

gum, propel, crackers, and fruit worked for me. Feel better soon!

Hey!
Try snacking on saltine crackers during the day. Also, I have heard that the ginger response does work - Haven't tried it myself, though.

I'm 15 weeks and still going through it. The things that have helped the most are grapefruit (the more sour, the better) and gum. I eat small snacks constantly to try to keep a full stomach, but that hasn't helped at all. Milk just makes me feel worse, but interestingly, chocolate milk is ok. I feel terrible most evenings, and the only meal I can eat is spaghetti with butter and parmesan cheese. Anything else makes me burp and taste that meal all night which makes me sicker. I feel for you and hope it gets better soon!

Ask your doctor about B6. It is supposed to help with morning sickness.

Try eating crystalized ginger, and drinking ginger ale that actually contains ginger as an ingredient (you can buy it in bottles at Whole Foods.)
