Mops

Is anyone a part of a MOPS group? I would like to know more about. I have friends and coworkers with babies and I am also part of a small (8 women) Mom and Baby class through the hospital where we gave birth. So, I have plenty of mom resources, but I was wondering if it is worth joining. Is it religion based? I am a teacher, so my summer is free, but life can get pretty busy during the school year. How often does MOPS meet? Is my son old enough-he's almost 10 months? Thanks!

What can I do next?

S., I'm in the Golden Valley MOPS group. We meet during the school year, twice a month. There is a day group and an evening group. It is Christian based. We have speakers, outings and social time. I really enjoy it. It is for mothers of babies - Kindergarten age. Childcare is provided.
Check it out! Its a great way to meet other moms in your area with little kids.

I belong to a Mops group that is at Prince of Peace church on Burnsville. It is an evening group, which is nice for working moms. We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. It is a variety of speakers, crafts and outreach projects. There is childcare provided --and they are wonderful people. It is a group that only meets during the year (Sept thru May) Too many people are gone during the summer. It is a Christian based group. We usually have one of the leaders say a prayer during the meeting. It is a great group of moms. Here is the website that explains a little bit more. Hope to see you there....

I'd join the local mom's club if I were you. There's more activities available.

S., I'm in one of the Eden Prairie mom's clubs, there are 2. We have meetings/events/playgroups all year long and we'd love to have you. Mom's Club International is not religion based, but there is a chapter in nearly every suburb/city in the metro area. Email me if you'd like more info!

Mops usually doesn't meet in the summer, from what I understand.

I think they meet once a month. That's about all I know.

I can tell you more about Mom's club if you want, but here is the website.

Hi! I am also a part of a Mops group. We meet at Ridgewood Church in Minnetonka. I love it and have made some of my best friends there! We also don't meet in the summer, but every other week from Sept to April or May. This year we the first meeting is the second Thursday of Sept. Child care is provided from brand new babies to kindergarteners. There are loving women that take care of them.

I'm not sure if you are even in the area, and being that you are a teacher it may not work into your schedule, but if you are interested in coming when you have a day off or a break you are welcome to come as much or as little as you like.
