I'm looking for a Montessori School in Gilbert for my daughter who will be 3 in August. I have checked out San Tan Montessori and I like it but they only have openings for afternoon. Anyone else know of anywhere good that is in Gilbert? It could be an in-home place as well.

What can I do next?

Hi A.,

I don't know of any Montessori Preschools in Gilbert, but we send our son to Tempe Montessor School located right off the 101 & Broadway. Don't know if you can make it work, but you can look them up at www.tempemontessori.org. Also, you might want to check out www.montessori-ami.org to make sure that the school you choose is AMI certified (if that is important to you).

Hope that helps.

Jennifer's Party Pad on Gilbert and Warner has a morning Montessori preschool program. I had the opportunity to sit in on one of the classes recently and I have to say that I was pretty impressed. The children were all very bright, self sufficient and kind to one another. Their website is www.jenniferspartypad.com

I also saw an ad on Craigslist for an in-home montessori preschool. The set-up looked wonderful, but unfortunately I do not know very much about it. They were located in ValVista Lakes. I will see if I can find the link to their website again, as I do know that they had one, as well as a blog.

I would not recommend San Tan Montessori, as I know three people that pulled their children out of the program due to how they were treating the children. Just a thought.

Bridges is opening their newest location at Gilbert and Ray. Its not necessarily Montessori, but it is family owned and this is their 3rd location. If you're looking for a great education experience for your preschooler, I highly recommend Bridges. My daughter attended last school year when she just turned 3, and boy have I seen some amazing growth in her. Her teacher, Mrs. Diana, was so wonderful.

Here's an excerpt from their website: BRiDGES Children love their school because it's safe, comfortable, respectful, and educationally rich. Our hands-on, hands-in programs include science experiments, cooking projects, and gardening activities. We integrate primary Spanish and Sign Language, music and movement, children's literature, zoo phonics, dramatic play, story time, and ample outside time on our Adventure Playgrounds. We model and teach appropriate social skills, communication skills, discipline, assertiveness training, and problem solving skills.

Good luck.

St. Anne Catholic Church has a Montessori preschool. Although most families that attend are Catholic, not all are. All children do however, go to "Atrium" which is a Montessori based religion class once a week, and everyone gathers in the morning for pledge and prayer. If those things are not objectionable to you, you could check it out. It is on the north side of Warner between Gilbert and Lindsay.

Though it's in Chandler, Montessori Day School on Warner just East of Alma School is a good school. I've been really happy with the Toddler program for my son and have heard good things about the Primary Grades as well.

Good luck!
