So What Happened?

thank you so much to everyone with the feedback. there was alot of great information and advice. but reading through the responses I confirmed what I already knew, I am no a sales person nor do I have all the time it sounds like it requires. I work 3 days a week now and am busy with 3 kids. My friend's boyfriend makes it sound so easy. so I thought it was an easy way I could make some fast money, but obviously there is no such thing. thanks again

Keep in mind that the company is wanting you to sell the product because it will benefit them. I'm very resistant to believe in these products and the business that supports them. It just seems similar to a million other products that are involved in pyramid schemes. How many people do you really know who are making money from it? I personally, would trust a more reputable product and company for independent sales if I were to consider it. Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay etc... have all been around for years and are legit companies as well as fantastic products.
I know plenty of people who have taken part in sales of products similar to Mona Vie. They're all the same and the only people making money are those at the top.

I wouldn't consider it if I were you. Had a friend that did it and it is just another pyramid scam with little if no returns for you. Do some research on the Web and Google Mona Vie scam and see all that pops up. Good Luck!

Hi,
I too was interested in adding a home-based business to supplement my massage business. I found Pink Papaya (www.pinkpapayaparties.com/myspaparty) to be a great skin/body/make-up addition to my business, and also Isagenix (www.cindyflesher.isagenix). I am having a Isagenix tasting party that is open to the public on Thurs. the 30th at 3705 Affirmed Dr. in Modesto at 6:30, then tasting and sampling both Pink Papaya & Isagenix on the 3rd of Aug. in Turlock at Wellingtion Restaurant from 6-8 if you are interested.

Hey there,
I read your responses. :)
You definitely should look for a company with proprietary products. That means that they can not be imitated. Juice companies actually have the shortest shelf life for business. For instance, the writing is already on the wall for Mona Vie. It's half the cost at Sam's and Costco - irregardless of "quality" that's big competition.
If you are going to put in the time, energy and money into a business, you ought to make it a legacy for your family.
Besides a product that is protected, you want to research compensation plans. Most companies pay out anywhere from 30 - 40% of total sales. The highest paying company is 45% total payout. Make sure you get that info direct from their accounting office and not a distributor. Distributors are spreading a lot of misinformation, most of the time unknowingly.
I make 1/4 million dollars a year in network marketing. You'll never get that with a couple hours extra at your job. :) It's a great pursuit. Just make sure you pick the right company. :)
Good luck!

Hi S. -

I was living in LA 2 years ago when my roommate came out all jazzed about Mona Vie. He was interested in becoming a distributor, and even had 2 good friends who are actors on General Hospital and were successfully selling Mona Vie! I was experiencing pain in my shoulder and they suggested I try Mona Vie and guess what? IT WORKED!! Pain was gone, but I became pregnant, stopped taking Mona Vie (for any effects it might've had on the baby) and moved back home to Sacramento. I never found out if my ex-roommate began selling Mona Vie or not, but he was extremely excited about it, as were his 2 actor friends, and I, for sure, can testify that Mona Vie works as far as aiding me with my minor shoulder pain.

I hope you get positive responses because in my heart I feel this is a product that does work, and can be a successful avenue to make extra income. Good Luck!

Hello,

I personally don't like the taste of it, but I know a lot of people who do. When my husband signed us up for the presentation, I told him I had no desire to be a distributor and after I saw the presentation, I was sure. Like all direct marketing, you have to put the money out first. Then you have to network. In order to do that you have to be on the phone, having parties, etc. For me, that took away too much time form my family that it wasn't worth it. In addition, with the economy being what it is, these type of luxuries are the first to go. At $50 a bottle, you may not sell asa many as you need to even begin making a profit. At least that is how I figured it. Now if you want to sign up just to buy it for your personal use, then then it might be worth it. For me. I decided to pass. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi S.,
I completely agree with the others here who have suggested that you need to be a "product of the product" before choosing a company to work with. Before starting on my Herbalife products, I was tired, overweight, and I felt horrible when I looking at my grey, lifeless reflection in the mirror. I started taking an advanced program and right away, my energy went through the roof, I lost 17 lbs and 37 inches... 7 of which off my waist... but best of all, my skin was just radiant after the 2nd day! Without these product results, I would have a hard time sharing with others as I could not share what had happened with me personally. I have started making money with the company coaching weight loss challenges and having a BLAST! I work very part time around my 3 month old and 3 year old and have made as much as $1000-1500 in a month! Everyone is right, it does take work and it does not just fall into your lap, but if you love what you are doing and you are helping others get healthy it makes a big difference and does not necessarily feel like "work". If you are open to hearing about other opportunities so you can make your best decision, I would love to tell you about Herbalife. It is nice choosing who I want to work with and it has literally changed my life!

Hi S.!

I have read through the other responses and I think they are very well rounded and thorough! I have worked with three different network marketing companies over the past 9 years and I have finally realized what I really knew from the beginning: I am not a sales person!!! Some people can sell and they do really well in these businesses. The rest of us are not sales people, but these companies are REALLY good at convincing us that you don't have to be, so we spend a lot of money to get started, buy products, sell a few, and are LUCKY to break even before we give up on it with shelves full of product left over.

As for Mona Vie I think it is tasty and expensive! My ex-friend (who got me selling Mary Kay in 2001 - unsuccessfully) started selling Mona Vie a while ago and tried to get me involved in it too by asking me for my "opinion" on the stuff since I have a bit of nutritional knowledge. I told her I would take a look and went surfing their web site for the nutritional information. I looked.....and looked....and on her request I looked again, but no luck! I couldn't believe a product that claims to be a nutritional supplement doesn't publish their nutritional info on the front page...or at all! I told her how i felt about this (I picture the flashing light above her head saying SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!) and yet she continued to invite me to every "Tasting" event and party. I started sending her emails to my spam folder and then one month they switched to Tupperware party invites. She has shown me how well these companies don't work! And how you can totally alienate all of your friends and family if you are not careful!

Good luck!

Yes, we have been distributors for a year now and we love the product. Financially I haven't been drinking the juice but since I have stopped, I have notice some changes in myself. The juice is great, it giving you 13 servings of fruits in just a few ounces. We are into the business side, but in the last 6 months I haven't worked it. Their is good information on you tube. If you have questions you can check out our site and email me anytime. www.thegreatproduct.com/chance. Give the juice 90 days and you should love it.

In my opinion and experience, if you pick up a couple of extra hours a week at your job, you'll have more time with your kids and make more money than you will if you try to do any home based business. No matter what you sell, it requires an investment of time and money, which will not do what your are trying to accomplish, which is have more time and money.

Hi S.,

There are many companies that are available to either do direct sells or networkmarketing. I feel it is a great way to work so you can pick your own hours and work with people you like to work with. I work with the only total wellness home company in the world and I work with many doctors and nurses and share information with those who want to make a change in their life.

Check all your options before making a decision. If you want more info on what I do let me know and I will share.

I wish you luck.

Hi!

I don't know a lot about Mona Vie, but I have been a distibutor for a whole food fruit and veggie product called Juice Plus+ for 6 years now and I love it! It is backed by many scientific studies. You can check them out at www.StudiesOnJuicePlus.com It is an excellent product and a great part-time business. My upline is an RN and my downline a nutritionist. They said what sets this product apart from any other is the peer reviewed studies that have been done on it.
Would love to share some info on Juice Plus+ with you and would be happy to set up a call with my upline who is a nurse like you to answer any questions you might have.

Good Luck!

I also do a home based business with a company called Arbonne. Yes, it is not Mona Vie, but I can tell you that doing Direct Sales is a great way to supplement your income or turn it into your main income. When looking for a company you definitely need to love the product(s); it is best for it to be a consumable product (repeat orders); the company should be growing; and they should be a member of the Direct Sales Association. Also, doing a home based business is a job, so money does not magically fall into your lap. You have to work it like a job and build a team. A good resource is the Direct Sales Association website (www.dsa.org). If you ever have any questions about the business please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck! C.

Hi S.,

This company is awesome and it is easy to make money if you are willing to work the business. The only thing I would caution right now, is the economic times. The juice can be expensive and in these times people aren't wanting to spend the extra money. I can't say one bad thing about this company and the people above are willing to work with you.

I would happy to tell you more about the company if you like, but you would get more by going to a tasting. Good Luck!

It seems like everyone in my town is selling this stuff. I keep having moms befriend me at the playground only to find out that they just want me to go to a "tasting." When I asked one mom if she sold Mona Vie, she actually said to me "we don't sell it, we share it." Sounds like a lot of BS to me. I know nothing about the stuff, but I do know a few moms who sell Mary Kay and they do quite well.

Good luck with what ever you pursue. Hope you make lots of money.

Don't get caught up in these "make money from home" schemes. They're all the same, and they result in the company making money, and you just annoying the hell out of your family, friends, and neighbors. No one wants to buy that stuff, but they feel bad saying "no" to you, so they just wind up trying to avoid you. Take some more part time hours as an RN. I know you would prefer to be home with your kids, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hi S.,

I work with Melaleuca and they just published an article comparing the Antioxidants of several major companies - including Mono Vie. They compared the ORAC Value (Oxygen Radical Asorbance Capacity) and their FRAP Value (Ferric Reducing Anitoxidant Power)and Welch's Grape Juice outbeat Mono Vie both times, along wtih Melaleuca's Provex CV. I can scan the article in and email it to you if you like. Melaleuca also has an awesome business plan, we are not ditribitors, so there is so selling, stocking, delivering, taking orders or anything like that. Let me know if you are interested in looking over all of the information before you make a decision. Remember, the best decision comes after you have compared everything and know that what you do is something you can stand behind.

Gook Luck!

I totally agree with Caroline B. I've been a Jafra Skin Care Consultant since 1994 and LOVE it, but it's still work. Whatever product line you decide to align yourself with, it's very important you use and love the products. Why are you considering Mona Vie? It doesn't sound like you even use the product so how can you enthusiastically recommend it to potential clients? I've never regreted my decision to sell Jafra products, however I wish I had made my decision years earlier because it's alot of fun and financially rewarding. There isn't anything in the product line I haven't tried and I am my own best customer, which is what you should be for whatever company you decide to represent.
If you want more information on Jafra you can contact me directly at ____@____.com offer one of the best commission rates in the Direct Sales industry and our products are of extremely high quality.

Hi S.,

I have a friend that is a distributor. She has an amazing personality and is a real go-getter. She is the type that could probably sell ice to Eskimos!

Anyway, at first she made a lot of money, and tried to get me involved. I declined (more on that later). She did make some money up front, in bonuses and sales. It has been about 9 months now, and she is not really making much money anymore. The product is expensive, and you need to rely on the people you put on auto-ship, to stay on auto ship. What happens when people need to trim their budgets? These are the kinds of products that people no longer buy when they have been affected by the recession. Now she sits at salons and other stores that allow her to show the product and tries to sell it that way. Not really what I'd like to do with my day!

Network marketing as a model is an excellant way of building your own business and you could make a substantial living with it. I personally know many people who make in excess of 6 figures. But, make no mistake... regardless of the company you choose, you need to work it. This is a business, if you treat it like one it will reward you as one, if you treat it like a hobby, it will reward you accordingly.

I have been a distributor for ACN for 7 months. I have made money, and I do receive monthly residual checks for customers myself and my team already acquired months ago. The reason I liked ACN over Monavie (I was also a Silpada rep) is that we do not sell products that people don't need when money is tight. We sell services. So, when you do approach the people you know with your services, you are not asking them to spend anymore money than they are already spending in their monthly budget, and in most cases I can save them money over what they are spending now. Our services are telecommunications... land lines, cell phones, voip phone service, satellite TV, home security. To me it made sense. Energy juice is not in my budget right now... but my cell phone bill is! And there is no monthly quota! But every time one of my customers pays their phone bill, I get paid... month after month! I never need to call them and ask them to be a customer again. They will always pay that bill, no matter how tight their budget becomes. Believe me, I have neighbors who have lost their homes, but they are still paying their cell phone bill, and I am still getting paid.

It really is an amazing business model, we have been in business for 17 years and we are backed by a multi-billionaire. If you would like to have some more information, fell free to email me here, and I will send you more info!

Good luck! A.
