Moms with Sit and Stand Stroller

I had this stroller when my girls were younger. (5 and 3 now). I loved it for the most part. One draw back is that the front seat does not recline far back. It only tilts slightly. The only other draw back which has already been mentioned is the straps don't adjust much. When my youngest was about 9 months (and she was a tiny 9 month old) they became tight so we just used the bottom strap only. Other than those things I loved my stroller. I took it everywhere. It was nice to take shopping, easy to maneuver and folds up easy. Good Luck!

I had a sit and stand stroller by Baby Trend and I HATED it! There wasn't a place for an older child to rest (aside from sitting up straight). It was very heavy and so long that it was hard to maneuver in a store, etc. I would look into other sit and stand strollers if I were you. I've seen some out and about that I wish that I'd had. I don't have one yet because my kids are too young, but having had several items from Baby Trend I would highly recommend another brand. I found the Baby Trend brand to be very cheaply made. It's definitely worth the investment to spend a little more at first. I checked out the Joovy and it seemed very sturdy.

We have the baby trend sit-n-stand and love it! We bought our first one when my youngest was 5 or 6 months old and my oldest was a bit over 3 (2004). At the time there was only 1 on the market made by Swan (now Babytrend). My oldest has always been very tall for his age. We had him sit in every double stroller on the market, no matter the cost and brand, and he was too tall for all of them. We used that first one so much that we finally broke it after 3 years. Believe me, we're talking heavy use at rennaisance faires, several huge comic book conventions, Disneyland, Zoo and on and on..we're a very on the go family. We bought a new one from Target by Baby Trend in 2007 to replace it. We just had to buy a new one, again from Target, about a month ago. We put more millage on that last one during the last year than most people would and it's been banged around a whole lot more than they are made for. We are not the typical example of stroller usage.
We looked at the Joovy when we were first looking for a replacement last year and my oldest was too big for it (he was 6 at the time) and my youngest was even getting a bit too big for the front seat (he was 3 at the time). At 7 and 4 1/2 they both still fit fine, although it's at the point where it's hard to push when the 7 yr old insists on sitting in the front.
Both of them have had no problems sleeping in it. My youngest always leaned his head onto the front tray. We hang the diaper bag on the handle bars and the oldest would lay his head on there and sleep. We also put the padded sling into the handles and he'd use that as a pillow a lot. I would buy another again in a heart beat.

I bought one of these used, and didn't love it. First, it is very long and therefore hard to steer- this may be better on the newer models, but definitely try it out with kids in it, if possible, before buying. Mine wouldn't have allowed either child to nap. I just gave it to a thrift shop, actually- it was just too heavy and unweildy. So, make sure you get one that you can maneuver. Good luck!

I have one of these for my kids -- ages 20 months and 4 1/2 years. We couldn't do without it in any place where we have to do a lot of walking -- especially Disneyland. However, I have two chief complaints. First, the front seat does not recline. Second, it is not nearly as easy to steer and manuever as my Graco. Okay, and I wish the basket were a bit larger. For us though, it is still a must have.

I also have the JOOVY, but it's the ULTRALIGHT version. I bought it simply because I did not want to push around these other humongous double-strollers in-and-out of small spaces (shops, crowded places etc.). I really do love this stroller. And it really IS ultra light. You can EASILY stroll/maneuver around with both children using one hand if your other hand is preoccupied! It's really that light. And I'm a small person, only 5"2"/100 lbs. So it's even light for me.

However, the only drawback is that the toddler seat doesn't stay in place and tends to push back when my 2-year-old sits in it. I wish they would have created some sort of a contraption that helps to keep the seat in place. Hence, what I use are binder clips to clip the side bars where the seat is attached -- to prevent the seat from moving back (the clips block it from moving further back). Not sure if I'm making sense. Other than that, I really love it.

As far as having the toddler sleep, I'm not sure if this is possible, since I've never done it. But if your 4-year-old can sleep sitting up, then I don't see a problem with placing a pillow to the side of him. There should be enough space.

In regards to your concerns about his height, my daughter is 37 inches (she's 2 years and 3 months) and she fits in it fine. Hope this information gives you a general idea.

I have had the Joovy for along time.My boys are 4 1/2, 2 1/2 & 8 mos. Needless to say I have had mine. I have never had an issue with the seat falling backwards on my other child. My 2 older boys stand together and the baby gets the front. My baby (since he was 5 mos) sits it it fine. Its not as plush as the big strollers but it works. The 2nd seat slides back and forth depending on where your child puts it. You can put a pillow there may not be comfortable. You can remove the tray on the front and the 4 yrs old can sleep there and the baby can go in a bjorn or a sling.
The only draw back I have are the shoulder staps are connected and they dont allow for much space for a toddler age, so we just buckle the bottom to keep him in if he sits there.
Overall I love this stroller and would buy it again. I wanted the plus but hubby said we didnt need it. He was right :( hehe

I have the joovy ultralight and love it !! I have a four year old and an 11 month old and it has worked out great for us especially when we are at the zoo/store/etc. We first purchased a double stroller which is huge ,then i decided to get this and it is so much easier . The Ultralight has ballbearing wheels which makes it easier to push when you have the extra weight of you older child on it . Since around 3 1/2 my daughter has not wanted a nap while we were out for the day , so I haven't had to worry about that . also with the joovy ultralight it comes with a material cupholder with pockets . I wasn't sure if that would work but it does great!! and really does keep your drinks cool. good luck

We recently purchased the Joovy sit and stand and we just love it. It's not bulky and fits easily through store isles. We have a 1.3 yr old and 2.7 yr old and they just love it. Our older child can easily sit and stand and our little one sometimes likes the sit/stand seat too. He actually fell asleep in the back, but was not to comfortable. The front seat does recline, but not all the way back, with the child sitting or standing in the back. It took me a long time to decide which double stroller would be our best bet and we found it after reading several reviews and doing a bit of extensive research. The canopy hides the sun away from both kids. No cup holder but we've attached our own. Does have mesh holder in back of seat for keys, drink, and snacks, but not too big. The holder in the bottom is not too big for diaper bag, but i'd rather carry diapers, wipies, diaper mat, and change of clothes and just stick what I need to take in the bottom for convenience.

I LOVE the sit and stand. the front seat drops back a little. for a 1 yr old it is okay. and the 4 yr old wont be able to nap. keep in mind, it will be really easy for him to bug the younger one. I took off the tray and foot rest-and the seat pad. it collapes much better that way.

I have the one from Target. I think it is a Trend Basic or something like that. It is so big and so bulk and so awkward, I almost never use it. I originally bought it when I had a nanny because she wanted it and then couldn't even get it in her car (I can get it in my Jeep). The front seat doesn't recline much. And ever time I fold it up the foot rest on the front pops off.

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have bought it. For me, it was a complete waste of $150.

I have a JOOVY sit and stand stroller. I love it!
I have a 3.5 year old and a 4month old. My toddler loves her "big girl seat" in the back that she can rest on when tired. It does have some drawbacks. Tends to be a bit heavy lifting in and out of vehicle, and I dont think the front seat fully reclines. My youngest is still using the carseat in the stroller so we have not tried the front seat yet.
What I like about the stroller is that it is approx. the size of a reg. stroller, not big like a double stroller. Gives my 3 year old some independence to choose to walk, or ride - sitting or standing. I am currently very happy with my JOOVY.
