Check out my website on how to earn extra cash online. It's makemoneyonline.tonoftips.net None of it is any real jobs, but I make enough for groceries each week.

For real at home jobs leads, check out the forum at workplacelikehome.com They have lots of legitimate leads for at home work.

Depending on the ages of your children it may be hard to work an actual job at home. A lot of places require you to work with no distractions and things to be very quiet. So you may still have to find someone else to watch them or try to work at night while they are sleeping.

The different things that I list on my blog are all things that I can do whenever I have time, and I can stop if my children need something from me.

I am currently working full-time, but just started with another company part-time to bring in extra money. And some day I will probably be able to work from home exclusively. That is what this company does. It helps moms work from home to have more time with their families.

I work for a wholesale wellness company that sells hundreds of natural household products, but I do not sell the products myself. Send me a private message and I will give you my phone number so we can talk. I am available to talk evenings (after 4pm Central time) and weekends. I look forward to talking to you soon.

It's great that you are asking those of us who have done it but what you need to know what to look for. I have two educational videos I show someone who is looking to work from home. Because even though we say we want to work from home, we don't know how to go about it and don't know what to watch out for.

Since, I became my own boss in 2002, I have been able to be home with my son since he was born and he is now 8 yrs. old, I have been able to bring in an extra $1000.00+ every month for the past 6 years and love the tax write-offs. It doesn't get any better than that.

I help people do that even if they don't want to do what I do. I just want moms and dads to be able to have the option of owning their life. You are welcomed to email me and request the videos and/or ask me questions and I can help you find something.
Stay encouraged! What you desire is possible. Just don't give up looking.

Like T F said previously... discipline, discipline, discipline! I have 3 children ages 7, 4, and 2 and I have a home-based business... and when you schedule yourself to work then you work, and when it's family time you have to learn to leave business at the desk. I make a lot of phone calls and with 2 children not in school, I don't get "power hours" or even a 15 minute stretch to make calls... I plug in 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there to get it done. The kids usually go with me when I make product deliveries and they are just as good as I am when going to get leads and handing out my business cards! LOL

You definitely have to do something you love! I've always loved skin care and make-up, so becoming a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant was a no brainer for me... and it worked well especially after I left working in marketing at a broker/dealer to become a SAHM. I mean, heck... if you don't love what you are doing, then why are you doing it... right?

First of all it takes discipline to work from home. It is a JOB and requires you to be very responsible.

We run our business from our home (NO MLM, legit consulting/brokering) and I have a hard time getting household jobs done because I am always on the phone or laptop coordinating material to be produced, delivered, labeled, etc, constantly on Quickbooks running numbers, on accounts Payable and Receivable making sure all is balanced, setting up the air, hotel and car travel for hubby. It pretty much takes all our time to make it profitable and worth it. Granted....we work a lot harder because it is our business and we answer to no one.

I could not have done this when my daughter was smaller. We NEED to find office space as it is now because we are working 24/7. We have a trucking company that houses material and transports material for us and we have to go inspect that on occasion to make sure it is labeled correctly.

What are your hobbies, talents, etc? Maybe you can do a telecommute job or job share. Some people swear by the MLM's but be very wary when investigating that. Many people get sucked in and end up losing money instead of making money. Babysitting is a good option and it gives your children social time with other children.

Whatever you choose, think through it carefully and weigh all the risks involved.

Good luck

Hi T.,

I don't have much idea about what you could do, as I am just telecommuting the same job I used to do at the office.

As far as raining children + working goes, it will depend on the age of your children and their personalities.
You need to have a good schedule (like working when they nap, before they wake up in the morning or when the sleep at night).
If they can happily play by themselves during the day, then you can work more.
So, it will depend how clingy they are, how much they nap, if they are regular (can you rely on the nap time to call a customer for example?)...

I highly recommend it to the people who can do it but no everybody can do it, either because of who they are or because of who they children are. You need discipline and organization.

I've written several answers on the subject already that you can check on my profile.

Good luck finding a suitable opportunity for you and your family!
