Moms, Please Help, Need Advice on Approaching a Situation
Recently I made a purchase from an Avon Rep back in July. I paid using my credit card, I really didn't want to do this. After I had given her my Credit Card info, it took her 1 month to process the payment. Not sure why she delayed processing for a month. Now I feel like my credit card info is exposed, because this individual held on to my Credit Card info, it just seem careless and rude. Should I politely ask her if she discarded my CC information properly? I heard some of these reps store your CC information for future purchases (I do not intend to buy from her again). I don't like this, especially if it can be easily accessible by anyone else in her home. What would you do? Should I just forget about saying anything or ask her if she disposed the information??
Thank you so much!
So What Happened?™
Thank you ladies for the responses!! Apparently, this Avon lady has NO customer service etiquette, she was offended and declined to respond. I will never pay for an Avon purchase or any direct sales purchase with my CC again!

What may have happened is that you ordered from her but her orders may go in at set times. For example, if you gave her the info on the 1st but her next order was due on the 15th, then she wouldn't have charged your card until the order came in. That could cause it to be a month in between. If you gave her the info when you received your products I understand your concern. I would ask her why the delay and verify that info is destroyed.

J.,
I sell children's books as a direct sales rep. Sometimes I don't place an order from Barefoot Books but once a month, so I will keep the credit cards I have until I place that order, then they get charged. This is pretty normal since we don't function like a regular retail store, per se. If you do not want her to keep your information, kindly call her and let her know that you would like her to shred your information. I'm sure she will gladly do it. If you are really concerned, have her send you the shreaded receipt.

Hi,
I am an Arbonne Rep. and I totally understand what your thinking. Clients give me their info. when they do not want to sign up to be a prefered client (where they can order online themselves and receive a 20% discount) and need me to purchase the product for them. I ALWAYS destroy the credit card number as soon as I place their order. I have no reason to hold on to their credit card number. If they want to place another order, then they call me and give me their number again. I would ask her if she still has you card number on file. Therefore, you can tell her you are uncomfortable with your number "floating" out there and have her destroy it. Hopefully it will give you a little piece of mind :)

You can contact your credit card co., explain the situation and ask for a new card number. Good luck.

That is way to long to hold it before processing. I don't know why it would be a problem for her to dispose of it or give you the info so you can destroy it. Watch your statements to make sure she's not using it.
God bless!

Definitely ask about the delay and what her procedure is when handling credit card information.

Hi! I am a new AVON Rep and I dont feel comfortable taking customers credit card over the phone....almost all AVON reps have a website that you can order from and you can use your CC on there. Personally I just accept cash or checks and direct them to my website to use a CC. Also if you go to the website you can have your order shipped directly to you. Please feel free to check out my website. www.youravon.com/kzikkos I hope you plan on using AVON again and that this did not deter you away from our company. I am sorry you had such a bad experience.
