The HEBISD (Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District) is located between Dallas and Fort Worth and was voted # 1 school district in the state of TX for the 3rd year in a row. The programs offered through the school district rival any others of which I'm aware, including many private schools. Please visit the ____@____.com of Luck!

This depends on how much money you have. Keller is an expensive area. Lewisville is wonderful lower key and Flower Mound has some money too. Ft Worth is said to have the most family friendly and top place to move to. However there are areas just S of Saginaw that are getto. I was told Boswell Bailey High School turned out a lot of Attorneys and people who are successful over the years. There are tons of christian schools all over. My boyfriend grew up in a community close to NRH mall where most of the people worked for Bell Helicopter as he does. I do not really like the area but there seems to be no crime there as in our new homes tons of break ins. I do not think we can decide for you but depends on what you can afford and decides where you will live. God Bless G. W ( You could write the Chamber of Commerce and get in touch with a realtor to scout for you. )I would not like to live in Dallas either. Most big cities have more crime and expensive to live.

J., that's the good thing about living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is that there are too many places to narrow down. The easy answer to your question is that the best school district is Highland Park; however, 99% of us can't afford to live there. So, what you can do is get on the internet and find out statistics for each school district about their passing rates for the TAKS test and how many schools are rated "exemplary" by the state commision. I think the Dallas school district gets beat up on most, being the only big-city district with inner-urban areas; however, even Dallas has good parts of town with exemplary schools.

I'm not sure if you actually want Dallas, or just the area...but if you are interested in looking in the DFW area you should check out Grapevine. It is centrally located and has many family-friendly activities throughout the year as well as great school disctricts.

FLower Mound was recently named the 6th best place to move in the nation and #1 in the state of Texas by Forbes magazine in their top 25 best places to live. They have excellent schools and great shopping. Almost any kind of store that you need to go to is within 15 minutes. You didn't mention the age of your kids so I can't tell you about the schools - ours are great. I grew up in Lake Highlands in Dallas and have been in Flower Mound for 12 years. We were in Coppell for 5 years - which is also a great area but it is in Dallas county and have higher taxes and insurance rates. Flower Mound is in Denton county so the taxes are better. Good luck.

My husband is a realtor and is from Dallas. He has lived here most of his life... give him a buzz and he can at leat point you in the right direction. he can't tell you WHERE to live (it's not legal for a realtor, but you can tell him what you are looking for and he can tell you where to start) - good luck. I moved here almost 3 years ago and had the same questions. we have a 7 month old....

Good luck!

The best district inside the city of Dallas is the University/Highland Park school system.

J.,

I live in Flower Mound, and all of the schools are A rated schools. Flower Mound is a wonderful, family friendly suburb with excellent schools. While people have money in Flower Mound, it is affordable, unlike Highland Park. Other suburbs (in which I am familiar) with excellent schools are: Southlake (more expensive than Flower Mound), Coppell, Highland Village, and Plano. You cannot go wrong with these suburbs. You should also check into Carrollton, Richardson, and Frisco. I think they also have excellent schools, but I'm not positive. Good luck!

I don't know if you want to stay in Dallas or that is just the general area, but the Grapevine/Colleyville is a great area just outside Dallas and the GCISD school district is really good. You can get the school rankings at gcisd-k12.net (I believe) or just google GCISD and you'll find their webpage.

Euless has been rated in Newsweek magazine to be one of the best placed to raise your kids. HEB school district is also great! I used to live in the S. Arlington/Mansfield area and never dreamed of leaving that area, but due to circumstances moved to Euless and LOVE IT!
